Within the universe of the show, it's explained in about the first half of Season 1, that Joey is given the alcove under the stairs because there was no room in the house. Later, it was decided (https://therealfullhousereviewed.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/season-1-episode-10-joeys-place/) to turn the garage into a full room for him. Basically, why couldn't the writers simply say that Danny had a spare room for him right from the start (https://therealfullhousereviewed.wordpress.com/2010/03/13/season-1-episode-1-our-very-first-show/)? Didn't it feel like with the alcove concept (http://nostalgiarush.blogspot.com/2019/01/five-failed-early-ideas-from-great.html), there was supposed to be some sort of joke that never exactly landed the way that the writers had hoped for.

If you watch the very first episode of Full House when Joey moves in to the Tanner house Danny told him the alcove was gonna be his to make him feel right at home because Danny gave it to him as a token of gladness because Danny Tanner really had a gentle heart. But I find it shocking that Joey should've had his own room and he should've gotten the attic apartment before Jesse and Becky decided to move in after they married but if you watch the beginning of the episode the alcove was originally Danny's work study which is why there was a desk there at first but as the episode continues Joey's room is set up already in the alcove

^^^ Things were still in the attic before the space was turned into Jesse and Becky's place. Them things were eventually placed in a storage locker. I love how the garage/basement area became Joey's place, but of course once Jesse and Becky got the attic space, Joey then got the room Jesse used to be in, which gave Jesse the ability to turn Joey's former space into his recording studio.....okay thinking of them things in the attic just now made me think of Danny putting on his platform shoes and turning off his music when he saw that Jesse was dancing with him and Michelle. :D :D :D
God bless you and each remaining cast member always!!!

P.S. I believe that it was in that very same episode that Stephanie came home upset from the mother and daughter honeybee sleep over gathering.....I pray that Jodie is able to stay strong considering who she will not be hearing from on January 19th for her 40th birthday. :crying: :crying: :crying:
Also, after Jesse and Becky moved up to the attic, why was it so important that Joey move out of the basement, anyway? Why did they all of a sudden need the whole basement for Jesse's studio? It's not like Jesse and Becky were displacing the studio by moving into the attic - there was nothing up there to begin with anyway. Think about it this way, even before Becky got pregnant with Nicky and Alex, don't you think that Jesse should have definitely rented out a place outside of the Tanner house for his studio?

I think there are big problems introduced by the concept of an attic in the Tanner house: the outside shots clearly show just two floors and a basement level. By adding an attic, they not only created a mismatch with the exterior shots, they made it weird that Danny had Joey sleeping in an alcove, instead of clearing out attic space for him.
