Sharon Stone Joins "The Flight Attendant" Season 2 in Recurring Role

After Season 1 of "The Flight Attendant" delved into Cassie Bowden’s tragic relationship with her late father, the upcoming second season of the hit HBO Max series will explore Cassie’s relationship — or lack thereof — with her mother.

In a major cast addition to the Emmy-nominated show, Sharon Stone has been tapped for the recurring role of Lisa Bowden, Cassie’s (Cuoco) estranged mother who would prefer to stay estranged. After a lifetime of dealing with Cassie’s alcoholism, she no longer has any patience or good will to spare.

Cassie’s mom only very briefly appears in one flashback scene in Season 1; the character now is being fleshed out in a Season 2 storyline.

Cuoco's HBO Max comedy series returns for its second season on April 21, featuring new addition Sharon Stone.

“That slap? Not written in the script…. That was a Sharon Stone Specialty!” Cuoco tells TVLine of Stone, who plays her mom in Season 2. “Came outta nowhere, that was a true reaction. “I’m like, I just got bitch slapped by Sharon Stone,” Cuoco joked to Jimmy Kimmel of Stone improving not one, but three slaps, adding: “I’m gonna bet money that woman isn’t slapping me again. We got the money take." Stone, says Cuoco was a fan of Season 1, "and heard we were casting my mom and she called casting herself and said, ‘I’d love to do this.' And casting said we had a voicemail from Sharon Stone…I was like this can’t be real and found out it was."
