What does everyone think the saddest series finale is.

I was definitely sad over the Cheers final, but I think I was more disappointed than sad. I think the saddest finale would be M*A*S*H. Especially, the part with the baby on the bus. Anyone who saw the finale will know what I'm talking about. :(

Three's Company :crying:

Roseanne- Dan dies
Seinfeld- They all go to jail
Newhart- The whole show being a dream

When the narrator came on and said "... and Wayne took over two years later, when Dad died..." I get chills everytime...

SO GOOD!

Probably Wonder Years and Golden Girls.

Mary Tyler Moore comes to mind. The group hug, everyone going to get the kleenex on Mary's desk and Mary turning out the lights at WJM :(

I agree with you 100%!!!!! Just reading your post, I'm having to wipe away a few tears. Kevin and Winnie do not end up together, Dad passes away, etc. It was so sad...but true to life.

Cheers because those last lines "Sorry, We're Closed", really was sad because all those years of those everyday characters were gone.

3rd Rock had a very sad series finale, but the saddest series finale I ever seen was "Roseanne" where Dan died and the show ended with Roseanne in her writing about how life was without Dan and how she was getting along. That was by far, I believe, the saddest I ever seen.

I just thought of another one. The Dinosaurs finale where all the characters in the show die.

The Golden Girls.

I would say definitely Mary Tyler Moore, because I cry every time I see the ending, when she says, "What is a family anyway? They're just people who make you feel less alone and really loved. Thank you for being my family." The way she says it breaks my heart. :crying:

Three's Company, when they turn off the lights and look at the apartment, I cryed for like 15 minutes.

The Wonder Years. The man's life passed before me just like he was a real person that I knew. All the effort raising his family, grumbling about his job, all that stuff made me feel for him and the family in a very real life way.

I am gonna have to go with Cheers on this one. After Diane left the plane I cried myself to sleep. The next day at school I was a total wreck.

The words " Sam you know" " Diane I think we both know" makes me tear up.

The Wonder Years finale was like a stab in the heart, everything you had been watching on that show about Kevin and Winnie, just went to nothing! It was a heart-breaker! And then the Three's Company finale, that was soooo sad too. Terry closing the door and crying, that really got to me.

It was like a stab in the heart, jeanninindallas, I agree. But as a whole I thought the episode SUCKED ROCKS. Personally I HATED it. Let's see, Kevin lost his car gambling at the resort. That's what sticks out in the episode. (That and the fact that the series never should have ended, of course!)

The finale of The Brady Bunch, on the other hand, is rewatchable. I've seen it many more times than the finale of TWY. Kevin certainly would have looked good with orange hair!

Moesha-Her little brother was kidnapped and she faints in her boyfriend's arms when finds out the news.

MTM is a sad one, Golden Girls is sad BUT they lightened the load by having Dorothy come in and out about 4 times, and each time the girls were skeptacil if she was comming back, but she did and they hugged all over until the last time when all the girls just hugged without Dorothy. Friends will be a sad one espeacailly if Ross and Rachel dont wind up together that us enough sadness right there, Chandler and Monica will probably move into a house on Long Island or in CT, Joey is probably going to move out to the West Coast to pursue his acting career and Pheobe, well who knows where Pheobe will wind up she will either be left in New York or her and Ross hook up and if that happens I will throw my foot right into the TV screen. I dont want it to end. Someone buy NBC and the rights to Friends and make them go on! PLEASE!!!!
