Bob Saget, the longtime stand-up comedian who starred in
the long-running sitcom Full House, has died, TMZ reports. Police confirmed he was found dead Sunday in an Orlando, Florida hotel room. He had just performed shows in Florida as part of a stand-up tour. Saget’s cause of death is currently unknown. He was 65.

Saget had two opposing public-facing personalities. He starred as the wholesome Full House (and Fuller House) patriarch Danny Tanner, appearing in the late ’80s and early ’90s sitcom alongside John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Ashley Olsen. As a stand-up comedian, he famously told raunchy jokes.

He was a long-running host of America’s Home Videos, served as the narrator of How I Met Your Mother, and had a memorable cameo in Half Baked. His Comedy Central roast featured one of the late Norm Macdonald’s most iconic performances

My favorite thing about Danny was his being the neat freak that he was.

Bob Saget was my Weekend as a kid. Starting on Friday’s with Full House. Americans Funniest Home Videos Ending my Weekend on Sunday’s. He was funny on To Grandmother’s House We Go Holiday Movie.

Jodie Sweetin appeared on this season's Celebrity Wheel of Fortune airing on ABC. She seemed normal there.
But now is when it may get harder for her. One of my most favorite male singers is a recovering alcoholic and his second rehab stint took place the year that his dad went forward in 2014. His first time in rehab was in late 2002 and so he was clean for over a decade before succumbing to temptation, country singer Trace Adkins that is.

My very first episode of Full House was also one of the most memorable. I was walking back to my dressing room after rehearsal, when I heard a voice inviting me to have dinner with the cast. It was Bob. I couldn’t believe it. P.S. I will admit that I haven't seen the Fuller House show past the first episode yet even though I do have the show on DVD. With Bob being gone, I don't know if I will ever watch it now. It was either Entertainment Tonight or the Inside Edition show that put a clip of that show out there and Danny was shown in it cleaning with one of D.J.'s kids, her middle one I believe it is. :crying: :crying: :crying:

"There is an intimacy to the death of the TV star that I’m not sure quite exists with the deaths of other artists," says Emily VanDerWerff of the recent deaths of iconic TV stars Saget and White. "When a musician or a movie star dies, we might be gutted, sure, but our popular culture places those figures up on a pedestal in ways that make them ever so slightly unapproachable. Bruce Springsteen is my favorite living rock star; I’d never think to consider him my dad. It’s just different with TV. Especially in the era when the main four broadcast networks were inviting the same people into our homes, week after week, it wasn’t all that hard for viewers to find a kind of comfort in our favorite shows. We knew Alan Thicke or Betty White (who died a few weeks ago) or Bob Saget (who died a few days ago) would be there to do the same things over and over, sometimes literally in reruns. The outpouring of grief from people in the wake of the recent deaths of White and Saget stems from how beloved they were as pop culture figures. White was your raunchy grandma, and Saget was your dad who loved a good dirty joke. But both of those personae were arrived at via television. They’re more or less transmuted versions of the most famous characters each played, amalgams of Rose Nylund and Danny Tanner and Betty and Bob, both of whom were always game for a joke. White wasn’t a rapacious lover like her Mary Tyler Moore Show character or a dim bulb like her Golden Girls character, and Saget almost certainly wasn’t your dad. But getting to see them every week made them feel more knowable on some level. We approach our TV characters with a certain intimacy in other ways, too. I wouldn't necessarily compare what happened to Bob Saget to Natasha Richardson. In her case, she fell down on the slopes and whacked her head quite hard, she was aware she was injured but declined to seek medical attention or get checked out. A few hours later she was in serious trouble with head pain, but by then it was too late.

Bob would have had to have hit the back of his head very hard to sustain the kind of trauma that would kill him. Subdural hematomas don't occur from merely walking into a door incorrectly, for example. Skulls are hard and meant to sustain substantial blows. It wouldn't be that surprising if it turned out that Bob was on blood thinners, so it wouldn't have taken a major hit.

I heard about this from my mom and my theory is I think Bob was taking a shower and after he was finished with his shower he panicked at something and fell to the ground and what I think Bob Saget should not have done was gone to sleep in the first place and he should've called someone for help or called his doctor and told the doctor that he had a head injury. Because people rarely get head injuries and die. Look at Robert Atkins the founder of the famous Atkins Diet and when he died his death was also caused by a head injury when he fell on thin ice. I think this is a way for Bob Saget's family to get more money and media attention so they can get the money they deserve. Bob Saget is missed by Full House fans and will be a sitcom legend forever

Not invalid points (and I DO hope the authorities truly investigated whether there was a possibility that there COULD have been someone who might have assaulted Mr. Saget).

However, one possibility of him having fractures on the back of the skull and the eye sockets may have been that he stepped on a stray piece of soap and slipped, fell down and banged the back of his head very badly THEN stood up and tried to walk but, instead accidentally slipped on the soap AGAIN and fell down but this time hit the front of his head. Of course, I hope the authorities had checked out whether there was any soap or other slippery substances on the hotel floor at the time of the hours leading up to his death.

What I've heard on his death in the last 2 days, is head trauma from fall and he had covid and had been vaxxed. So who knows the real reasons...could all be a factor.

Not an expert so take my anecdotal experience for what it's worth.

My 70 year father had been suffering dizziness from complications of mini strokes. He lost his balance on the first stairs. He fell some 10 feet and tumbled end over end and banged his head 3-4 times during the fall. He had several lacerations and contusions on his head. His head hit a glass bowl near the stair landing and had glass inside the wound.

He should have had broken bones, but he had none. Just a lot of bruises. He had no skull fractures. Thank God he received quick medical help/ first aid.

I am trying to understand how a person in a hotel room suffers skull fractures to his eye sockets and back of his head from a fall. This is so terrible because I can't fathom such severe injuries from a hotel room.

He would have immediately been unconscious or so incredibly confused. He would not have tried to "sleep it off."

In some reports it says he had Klonopin in his system. That is a prescribed drug , a mild tranquilizer similar to Xanax or Valium .Safe in small doses taken as directed . I used to be prescribed it for anxiety disorder . I'm only 5'2 , Bob was 6'5 as directed never made me trip and fall.

The grave of comedian Bob Saget finally has a headstone befitting of the beloved "Full House" star nearly 10 months after his sudden death.

In Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, the headstone bears Saget's full name, Robert L. Saget, and a touching tribute to the actor, who died in January at age 65.

"Loving & devoted husband, father, son, uncle, brother & friend," the epitaph says, as seen in photos published by the Daily Mail (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11371753/Bob-Sagets-grave-gets-headstone-nine-months-beloved-comedian-passed-away-65.html).

"He brought people together and made them laugh. A very great man," it says.

The headstone, of course, also includes Saget's date of birth (May 17, 1956) and the date of his death on Jan. 9, 2022 — the night he was found dead (https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2022-01-10/bob-saget-death-details) in his Orlando, Fla., hotel room between stops on his stand-up comedy tour.

He was too young to die, but his death was sudden and if he suffered (and he may have and knew he was going to die), that didn't last long and that was it. He didnt know he was going to die (in the immediate time) and died.

Some people suffer for months and even years of cancer and other illnesses, being confined to bed, not being able to eat, walk unaided, or other things. I just read about the actor Tim Roth's son, who was in his early 20's, being diagnosed out of the blue of a Stage 3 incurable cancer and was messaging how much he was fighting it. When I was in my early 20's, death was pretty abstract (for me). Sure, I knew young people my age died, but I never occured to me it would happen to me. I should have died twice from getting hit by a car on a bicycle and being thown out of a jeep that flipped on a city street when I was about 19. Wasnt killed or even that hurt.

You just never know. Hopefully I will just drop dead.

It's been over a year and a half since Bob died, and I'm still looking for answers for why it happened. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the coroner initially say that his body resembled that of an individual who was in a car accident? There was suspected blunt force trauma, and he was allegedly found in bed according to early reports until the story changed and the autopsy was allegedly sealed.

Full House star Bob Saget's death left fans devastated when he passed away in January 2022.

The popular comedian and actor was 65 when he suffered a "blunt head trauma," which was widely reported to have caused multiple skull fractures and haemorrhaging in his brain. His autopsy left many with more questions than it did answers due to the horrific nature of his injury.

At the time, the New York Times’ Science section tweeted, “Far from a head bump that might have been shrugged off, the autopsy described an unmistakably serious set of injuries that would at the very least have probably left someone confused, brain experts said.”

Meanwhile, CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who is a neurosurgeon by trade, broke down the details of the report during a New Day segment. At the time, he shared, “I think what it reveals more than anything else is that this was not a sort of simple bump on the head.”

He also divulged how early reports about his death had suggested that Bob potentially bumped his head when getting into bed and did not realize the extent of his injury.


He said, “When you read this autopsy report, that may still be the case, but it was a very significant blow to the head." He then described how the fractures to Bob's skull stretched from the back of his head around to his right temporal bone, with additional fractures present at the front of his skull as well.

Sanjay explained, “In order to do that, when I first saw this, if I knew nothing else about what had happened, you would think that maybe this was someone who had fallen down the stairs and had several impacts to the head or been unrestrained in a car accident. I mean, it was that degree of force.”

He concluded, “Whatever happened here, I mean we may never know the exact — like how he fell or what happened, but it was a significant blow that caused that, and likely the bleeding on top of the brain … sadly, led to him becoming unconscious and then dying."

Emergency physician Dr. Megan Ranney agreed with that analysis, writing on Twitter, “This is not a ‘slip & fall’. This is not a minor concussion. This is MAJOR head trauma. My condolences to Saget’s friends & family. I hope that they get answers as to what really happened.”

She then added, “PS: this doesn’t mean it was INTENTIONAL trauma, either. But this is more than just ‘I whacked my head on the kitchen cabinet.'" The doubt continued to be cast with former AUSA-SDNY Richard Signorelli saying, “No wrongdoing found. Something doesn’t make sense given his severe head injuries.”

Washington Examiner chief political correspondent Byron York also cast doubt on the investigation into Bob's death due to the autopsy results. He wrote, “This is really odd. Makes you wonder about the thoroughness of the original investigation of the scene.”

I just listened to Kelly Rizzo's segment on the How Rude Tanneritos podcast yesterday. It's really sad that she didn't get to have much time with Bob Saget, but I'm glad that Jodie and Andrea consider her like family. I can't imagine growing up with Bob, having him be single, and then this woman suddenly comes into his life. She was very lucky to have him, and to get his dark humor.
