Has anybody seen the movie starring our beloved Lilith?
Or heard anything positive or negative about it?
I've heard a lot of positive reviews on it. I also read somewhere that it did fairly well at the box office, considering it is an indie film.
Tadpole is about a 15 year old boy who has a major crush on an older woman(played by Sigourney Weaver) to complicate matters, the boy sleeps with Weaver's best friend(played by Bebe)

I saw it the day it opened... at the Lincoln Plaza in NYC. It was great! I went to see it all by myself, and the theater was more filled than I had anticipated it to be.
Anyway, Bebe totally stole the show. She was hilarious. I wasn't as grossed out as I thought I would be. Diane didn't really seduce Oscar, so it wasn't like... a planned thing. It wasn't graphic or anything either and it was played off so that it was funny more than anything. I was laughing the whole time. I seriously went in thinking I'd be grossed out, but not at all. In fact, I kind of enjoyed Diane and Oscar together (that just sounds so wrong)! LOL
As for Oscar and Eve (Sigourney's character)... I can see why she described it as 'sweet.' It definitely was... their relationship was more platonic, aside from one passionate kiss. He basically rejuvenated his father and Eve's relationship due to his little crush. He opened his father's eyes to the fact he was neglecting Eve's needs and he opened Eve's eyes to the fact she loved his father, even though she felt something was missing. He basically made her feel young again and gave her the ammunition to go on... opened her eyes I guess you could say.
Anyway, Bebe was hilarious. I especially liked the dinner scene, when she told Oscar she wouldn't say anything as long as he didn't let her drink. Diane and Oscar were the only two who could speak French, and they'd share little convos in front of the other two. He kept telling her to get her foot out of his groan in French! It was hilarious... the expressions passed between the two. Every time she'd go to take a sip.... Oscar graciously ordered Eve's dinner for her in French and when it came to Diane, he told her to order herself in an aggravated tone. It was rude, and she was insulted obviously... so she goes to have a drink. It's so funny. I can't explain... you have to see.
I don't know if it'll be out in regular theatres around the nation eventually, but if you're in the NYC area... go see! Bebe alone is worth it! It's playing at the Lincoln Plaza at Bway and 62nd. I also bought the NY Times the day it was released and there's this big picture on one page of Bebe, Aaron, and Sigourney... the poster pic where Bebe's licking his ear.
I'm going to see it again ... woo.

OMG, that would be so great. But, no... I want her to do more theatre... not movies. LOL. She's going to do a Funny Girl benefit Sept. 23... I want to go. Sutton Foster, Audra McDonald, Megan Mullally, Jane Krakowski, Kristin Chenoweth... I'm SO there. LOL.

Going all the way to 62nd street is kind of a trek for me. I wonder if its playing down in the village. I think the theatre is called the Angelica?!? If I have to though, I'll go uptown. Maybe we could catch it together.;)

I believe it's only playing at the Lincoln Plaza, but it's worth the trip uptown! You're in the Village? Best part of the city! I really don't know if the movie will be playing in other theaters... it is an indie... ya know? Hmmm.

That's the beautiful part about living in New York, it's a whole lot easier to see an indie film in a theatre than anywhere else. :)
