Barrymore Plans Laverne & Shirley Movie with Love

DREW BARRYMORE is hoping to revive cult 1970s/80s TV series LAVERNE & SHIRLEY with pal COURTNEY LOVE.

The actress, who tasted success as a star and producer of the big screen adaptation of another TV hit CHARLIE'S ANGELS in 2000, is reportedly a huge fan of the HAPPY DAYS spin-off which starred CINDY WILLIAMS and PENNY MARSHALL as Milwaukee brewery workers.

New York gossip columnist LIZ SMITH claims Barrymore wants to reprise Williams' role as Shirley and has her friend Love in mind to play sassy Laverne.

Wouldnt be Courtney Love thats for sure...are they opposites or what?? It would have to be someone squeaky clean and young- like Kirsten Dunst or Natalie Portman. They look very innocent, just throw on a short brown wig. Plus Kirsten has the whole dimple thing too.

Kirsten Dunst...that's pretty good. She definatley has the perkiness factor.

Ohhh yeah, I forgot about Reese. I really like her too. I loved her in Legally Blonde. Shes got that innosence thing going on too.

Well, this is just my opinion but I wouldnt want a L&S movie unless it was the original cast. I mean- cindy and penny are still alive and l&s would have aged anyways!

I agree Titania. Nothing beats the original. I think, in MY opinion, the only TV show made into a movie that was almost as good as the show was the Brady Bunch. I mean, even if you didnt like the show, you have to admit it WAS funny! But it was a good movie because the same man who did the show did the movie--he knew what people wanted to see. Movies today from TV shows are all stupid and drama-like. Look at The Patty Duke Movie, Growing Pains Movie (gave me pains!), then you have movies that are sooooo far fetched from the original show--Leave it to Beaver?? C'mon, that dad was a freak screaming like that, Ward in 1957 would NEVER raise his voice like that! Dennis the Menace was OK, but not TOO great either. I dunno, those are just my opinions, not to offend anyone who was obsessed with the My Favorite Martian and Facts of Life Movie--cant judge FOL movie because I missed it, but Im sure it wasnt as good--No Jo!!!!!!

Ohmigosh, yes! Go out and rent Lost & Found... besides the fact that it's a hilarious movie, Davey sings in it. I think he sings quite well when he tries.

Anyway, I think with some lessons, anyone can dance... tap or otherwise.

OMG!! I LOVE Will Ferrell!!! Hes sooooo funny..I know hed do an excellent job!! Actually, they could probably even have Ms.Garrett to play Mrs.Babbish..shes older, but you gotta have atleast ONE person playing the same character!!
