View Full Version : Hi, I'm new!
TheHappyBurgerMeister 07-23-2002, 01:24 AM Hello, I just decided to join this message board because I'm a new LITB fan! I've been watching it on TVland for a few weeks now and I love it. I never actually watched the show before, well maybe a few episodes. Wally and Beaver are so cute!! Well, I think I'll reply to some of the other messages now.
DarleneIllyria 07-23-2002, 11:13 AM Hey! Glad to have you on the boards. I love your screen name. Hope you have a wonderful time on the Beaver board! :)
QueenOfTheGypsies 07-23-2002, 04:24 PM Hi and welcome! I only recently started posting here on the LITB board (I mostly hang out on the I Love Lucy and Chit Chat boards). I decided to come over here because I've been watching a lot of the reruns lately and I've rediscovered how much I really love this show.
BTW, your screen name is great! Love it!
TheHappyBurgerMeister 07-24-2002, 02:22 AM hey, thank you. I'm glad you like my sn. I was hoping it wasn't too risque! You should hear the other ones I was thinking of. Um, no you don't! Well, today I got a book from the library- "The world according to Beaver". I WAS going to get the Jerry Mathers autobio. but my library doesn't even carry the book! So, I'll have to look for it at the bookstore.

I've read 'The World According to Beaver'. It's pretty good, and Jerry's book is good too. I just put down for 'The Beaver Papers', but that book is really rare, so I don't know if I'll be able to get that one from the library.
I was wanting to read The World According to Beaver and Jerry's bio, but none of the libraries or bookstores around here have them. Does anyone know if I could get them online anywhere? Thanks!

You could try www.amazon.com or www.ebay.com
lukes42 07-25-2002, 01:21 PM Welcome to the board, WallyCleaverisaPimp!
"The World According to Beaver" really is an awesome information book on the show. What I really love about it is the episode descriptions in the back of the book. It will be worth your while reading it.
Jerry Mathers' autobiography "And Jerry Mathers, as the Beaver" is another great book. You get "behind-the-scenes" of the show, and get to read about Jerry's life, throught the struggles and good times. He even includes some great never-before-seen photos of his family and some of the show. Another good book to read.
"The Beaver Papers" is rare, but it is obtainable. It is no longer available in print, but there are used copies available from Amazon.com, and E-Bay is always a good place to look for it. In fact, that's where I got my copy! :)
And I can't forget to mention Frank Bank's (Lumpy) book " Call Me Lumpy: My Leave It to Beaver Days and Other Wild Hollywood Life." It is in limited availability at Amazon.com, so Barnes and Noble might be a better place to check for this book (along with the Beaver Papers). Their website is www.bn.com :)
UncleBilly 07-26-2002, 02:02 PM I bought my copy of "The World According to Beaver" at Amazon.com and I bought Jerry's autobiography through one of Amazons used booksellers. It was only about $4.00 and it came within a few days of ordering. I've ordered a few used books that way and as long as you pick a seller who has good ratings and good comments from previous buyers I have had no problems. The Beaver Papers are also available through the used booksellers.
Thanks everybody for the info about the Beaver books! I already found what I was looking for!
