Does anyone know what the rate was for George "Christy" Christopher, Lester Gruber, Harrison "Tinker" Bell, Virgil Edwards, Joseph "Happy Haines and Willy Moss???:confused:

O.K., friend, finding out the ratings for the members of LCDR McHale's crew was easy enough--they're listed in the closing credits of the 1964 McHale's Navy feature film--however, the only thing I had to go by for their rates was one old still of them in their dress whites with some of the markings indistinct. So a couple of these might be one paygrade off.

• Quartermaster First Class George "Christy" Christopher

• Torpedoman First Class Lester Gruber

• Machinist's Mate First Class Harrison "Tinker" Bell

• Gunner's Mate First Class Virgil Edwards

• Radioman Second Class Willy Moss

• Seaman Joseph "Happy" Haines

And, although you didn't ask, the last, unofficial member of the crew:

• Seaman Third Class Takeo "Fuji" Fugiwara, Imperial Japanese Navy
