I wonder if this could have been good? I could sorta see the 2 shows taking place in the same universe

Mayberry'sBadBoy 06-21-2022, 07:24 PM I've always said that the episode "Divorce, Mountain Style" would've made a better Beverly Hillbillies script than TAGS one and maybe it could be reworked as a crossover episode. Instead of Charlene falling for Andy she falls for Jethro and you could have Dud fall for Ellie Maye. You could also do some gags where Barney and Mr. Drysdale butt heads while Miss Jean and Andy work to try to find some way out of it while lamenting the idiocy they deal with. The plan then results in Mr. Drysdale being the one to ride around town on the horse due to Barney leaving to try to get his grandmother involved (he returns with a black eye because his grandma confused him for a burglar) which is nescetiated by Briscoe having a change of mind when he finds out how much the Clampetts is worth. You could also have Briscoe decide after seeing Drysdale pathetically riding around on the horse to annul the marriage because of how he fears big money will make Charlene and Dud like Drysdale and decides to be happy with their reunion along with divorce from Jethro and Ellie May. Since the term is correct you could also have him say to Drysdale "You know first time i ever saw a jackass ride a horse." |
