I love Christmas episodes of Sitcoms of the 50’s & 60’s especially!

Here is how I see Christmas episodes have Changed over the years.

1950’s & 1960’s- Decorating the house. Putting up Christmas Tree and hanging the Stockings every Christmas Eve. Than some older person brings the magic of Santa to life. The Sitcom ending Sinning a Christmas Song. Usually Silent Night.

1970’s- Feeling Sorry for somebody on Christmas. Characters missing there Christmas plans.

1980’s- Santa acting crooked. Homeless person sometimes seems to be the focus.

1990’s- At the End of the Show the Cast and Crew Wishing the Audience a Happy Holiday Season. One of the Characters has to dress as Santa.

2000’s- Christmas with Friends. Fighting at Christmas time.

2010’s- Realistic Christmase’s

Today- Decorate the set but real no mention of Christmas.

I think I prefer the '60s and '70s Christmas episodes. I enjoy watching them every year - shows like "Bewitched", "Happy Days", mostly shows I grew up with. I also really like "Wonder Yeas" episode where Kevin wants a color TV. "Home Improvement" in the '90s had some good holiday episodes.

I was always excited every year when i read TVGuide and saw that some Christmas episodes were coming up. There were many years when some of the most popular shows never did holiday episodes - it seems more common today.
