Michaels recently told The Washington Post that his plan was to be around for the Saturday Night Live's 2024-2025 50th season (https://www.primetimer.com/item/Lorne-Michaels-on-his-SNL-future-My-plan-as-of-now-is-to-see-it-through-to-the-50th-anniversary-quot-d1SBGn). In a new interview with CBS Mornings -- timed with CBS airing the Kennedy Center Honors on Wednesday -- Michaels said the 50th anniversary would be a good time to retire. “You know, I think I’m committed to doing this show until its 50th anniversary, which is in three years,” he said. “I’d like to see that through and I have a feeling that’d be a really good time to leave. But … I won’t want the show ever to be bad. I care too deeply about it. It’s been my life’s work. So I’m going to do everything I can to see it carry on.” Asked if there could be an SNL without him, Michael said: “Of course,” and then added vaguely, “I have a sense of where we’re headed with that, you know.” When asked who could take over for him, Michaels said he would not "go on about it -- it's three years away."

Sorry Lorne. The show's been bad for over 20 years now.

Don't let the door hit you on your ass on the way out, Lorne.

RIP NORM!

Bet he asks Tina Fey to do his job. I was thinking Kevin Nealon, but he might be too old for that already. My money's on Tina!
