SUE ANN: Okay, Nancy. What American purchase was being finalized in Christmas 1802? NANCY: [Tries to guess, but Blair interrupts] BLAIR: Something from Bloomingdales? '80sSitcoms 12-28-2021, 11:40 AM  But photos are Molly's thing... and Mrs. Garrett's. Okay. Lorimar Television 12-29-2021, 10:11 PM On the other end of Nancy's smartphone, lol. Atleast Roger can FaceTime now instead of just calling in and Nancy tying up the common phone. '80sSitcoms 12-30-2021, 01:51 PM  But photos are Molly's thing... and Mrs. Garrett's. And everyone's, now. This is 2021, so all the Eastland girls would have smartphones and using cameras all the time everywhere. So it's totally natural that Nancy would take a souvenir picture of her friend Sue Ann on Sue Ann's boat at the Miller's Pond Xmas party. '80sSitcoms 12-30-2021, 01:51 PM History? Christmas!! Look at the photo! :p '80sSitcoms 12-30-2021, 01:53 PM Atleast Roger can FaceTime now instead of just calling in and Nancy tying up the common phone. "the common phone"! :D 80s Dude 12-30-2021, 07:25 PM I remember being in college and having just one phone for the whole floor. '80sSitcoms 01-04-2022, 11:01 AM I remember being in college and having just one phone for the whole floor. Hope there wasn't a Roger on your floor! FOL-FAN-ITA 01-04-2022, 02:49 PM Hope there wasn't a Roger on your floor! Or a Nancy that was on the phone with a Roger  '80sSitcoms 01-04-2022, 03:06 PM Or a Nancy that was on the phone with a Roger  She may not have been allowed on an all-boys college dorm floor! (or maybe it was co-ed, lol) RetroGuy2000 01-04-2022, 06:28 PM It's kind of funny: back then, a free phone was a major commodity, and there was usually just one land line per house. It was rare to even have a second line. Now everyone has his/her own phone, and no one even has landlines. You couldn't do a "Nancy's hogging the phone" subplot anymore. You could, however, have a teenage girl constantly on her cell phone, or texting. It wouldn't be a huge role, but it would be true to life... although now boys are just as connected to their phones. '80sSitcoms 01-04-2022, 06:32 PM "The Phones of Life" You take the text, you take the app, You take 'em both, and there you have The Phones of Life -- The Phones of Life!" phone: phone: phone: phone:  RetroGuy2000 01-04-2022, 06:39 PM :lol::lol::lol: 80s Dude 01-04-2022, 07:51 PM Hope there wasn't a Roger on your floor! I don't know a single guy my age or younger named Roger. That is a name that is more common with my parents generation. '80sSitcoms 01-06-2022, 01:27 PM I don't know a single guy my age or younger named Roger. That is a name that is more common with my parents generation. I knew of one Roger in our local rural community back at home. And I have a second cousin Roger that is more my parents' generation. Peekskill's Roger would likely have been born somewhere around 1963. |
