Jo’s part still made no sense though RetroGuy2000 12-08-2021, 01:12 AM Hahahaha skule! That's how Marcia Brady says school. RetroGuy2000 12-08-2021, 01:15 AM And once again, i am the ONLY one who has ever liked the 'Best sister' episode lol! (so what else is new???) :soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox: Don't worry, Valentina. It takes diff'rent strokes to move the world, yes it does. Lorimar Television 12-08-2021, 03:26 AM That's how Marcia Brady says school. I know haha RetroGuy2000 12-08-2021, 03:46 AM I liked part 1 and Eve being on it. Jo’s part still made no sense though Indeed, Jo's part made ZERO sense. Jo was supposed to be a tough girl from The Bronx. A girl who was a former gang member, and who still enjoyed hanging out with her tough friends from the old neighborhood. Where Jo came from, you squeal, you're toast. Suddenly Jo wants to become a nun?! Suddenly Jo doesn't know how to throw a punch? The writers shoehorned Jo into a role where she just didn't fit. It should have been Sue Ann. Sue Ann was the girl who was all about morals: the girl who was kind of square, according to what she said about herself. The girl who worried about going against a teacher, or who was so square she had to cross her fingers behind her back when she told a lie. Eve Plum was fine in the role, and it's nice seeing her play the oldest sister, for once. No more middle child! Lorimar Television 12-08-2021, 03:52 AM Haha agreed! Would be cool seeing 2 of my favorite blondes from the 70s on one episode together too! RetroGuy2000 12-08-2021, 04:34 AM Haha agreed! Would be cool seeing 2 of my favorite blondes from the 70s on one episode together too! Eve and Julie Pie? Yeah, that would have been cool. RetroGuy2000 12-08-2021, 07:12 AM . I was just saying how Molly says it her way, and how adorable it is. :) BestTVever 12-21-2021, 02:20 PM And once again, i am the ONLY one who has ever liked the 'Best sister' episode lol! (so what else is new???) :soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox::soapbox: I loved that episode. I also love that Lisa with her deep Christian faith agreed to do it. She did not perform in an pre-marital sex episode due to her convictions and I thought she really made Blair convincing in not wanting her to become a nun. Eve was superb too. PracTz 12-21-2021, 05:52 PM Of course, it didn't help that Meg (Miss Plumb) was never before/since mentioned other than this two-parter, yet Blair kept referring to her as her SISTER! OK, why did Blair refer to Meg's parents as 'your parents' instead of ' my Dad/Mom and your [other parent]'. What's more, since they'd locked up Meg in their house, it sounded as though they had NEVER gotten divorced(quite the contrast to the younger Blair's parents being split back in 1973 which she spelled out the actual date during this episode). Seriously, between Meg never before/since being mentioned much less seen besides this two-parter, it would have worked FAR better had they just termed Meg as Blair's cousin (or even aunt) then just had gotten on with this self-contained story. BTW, since the show's PTB admitted that they had indeed named the tough tomboy Jo after Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' protagonist', it seems a virtual certainty that they named Eve Plumb's more mature and calm character after Jo March's older sister Meg (though Miss Plumb HAD played, of all folks, their sympathetic but frail sister Beth in a 1970's TV movie version of the story). '80sSitcoms 12-21-2021, 06:25 PM Of course, it didn't help that Meg (Miss Plumb) was never before/since mentioned other than this two-parter, yet Blair kept referring to her as her SISTER! Yes, there are so many issues with this episode... Seriously, between Meg never before/since being mentioned much less seen besides this two-parter, it would have worked FAR better had they just termed Meg as Blair's cousin (or even aunt) then just had gotten on with this self-contained story. Or even given that role to Sue Ann, where it would have actually made sense. BTW, since the show's PTB admitted that they had indeed named the tough tomboy Jo after Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' protagonist', it seems a virtual certainty that they named Eve Plumb's more mature and calm character after Jo March's older sister Meg Ha! I never thought of that! Great point! (though Miss Plumb HAD played, of all folks, their sympathetic but frail sister Beth in a 1970's TV movie version of the story). "Jo, Jo, Jo!" PracTz 12-21-2021, 09:32 PM "Jo, Jo, Jo!" Or to give it just the right Brady-esque OOPMH: "Jo-jo! Jo-jo! JO-jo!" Lorimar Television 12-22-2021, 12:17 AM Our Sue Ann and Jan would make great nuns! RetroGuy2000 12-22-2021, 12:47 AM Our Sue Ann and Jan would make great nuns! It's funny because Julie Pie's favorite saying is something imparted to her by a nun, when she was a child. '80sSitcoms 12-22-2021, 03:09 PM Or to give it just the right Brady-esque OOPMH: "Jo-jo! RetroGuy2000 12-22-2021, 08:50 PM And that would be...????? "Take care of your body and your body will take care of you." Oh, wait. No. It's: "What you are is God’s gift to you; what you make of yourself is your gift to God." |
