We actually had a situation where this would have been a good thing, but if there's a way, i don't know what it is.

I used to do this on the Games forum when when an old thread was closed.

You can either build it yourself following the quote tag syntax or click "Quote" on the desired post and copy/paste the whole thing into the new thread.

Like opus said, this is technically a rule violation, so I wouldn't try this except for continuing game threads.

As I was asking this I had a hunch it was a problem!

It was what we wanted to do over on Politics--where the point was made on the vax. on another thread, and it made perfect sense. But it rarely comes up.
