I wouldn't know any better, but somebody on Ken Levine's blog recently said (http://kenlevine.blogspot.com/2021/11/friday-questions_0953021256.html) that around that time, there were apparently a lot more references in the scripts to how “beautiful” Helen's character was. Since Levine never worked on Mad About You, he wouldn't absolutely know for sure. But it did feel like an awful enough of a coincidence. Levine did note however, that an actor doesn’t need a producer credit to force the producers into showing them in a more favorable light.
