View Full Version : MeTV November 2021 Adds Mayberry & MASH to Sunday Nights
Merry24 11-15-2021, 06:30 PM According to Me TV. Com Columbo is retiring from Me TV. One more thing though Columbo will have a Farewell Marathon November 21 Sunday from 2pm-8pm.
Starting November 28, 2021
Sunday’s
6pm-7pm The Andy Griffith Show (Replaces Columbo)
7pm-8pm MASH (Replaces Columbo)
10pm The Ed Sullivan Show
11pm Carol Burnett
Merry24 11-15-2021, 11:55 PM I think they should of added Leave It To Beaver at 6pm & The Wonder Years (original) at 7pm.
SarahBellum 11-16-2021, 01:23 PM I think they should have added some of their late night shows (i.e. Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, etc.) for those of us who are not able to stay up that late.

Man, I can agree with that. Their airing of Time Tunnel, the Invaders, and the Fugitive at the times they do, is messing up my beauty sleep. I'd like to see MeTV pick up Route 66, as well.
BigManMike 11-16-2021, 02:04 PM What a joke MeTV is. Just more of the same.
KentB3 11-16-2021, 02:38 PM Has a new schedule been posted yet?
AMackII 11-17-2021, 04:06 AM MeTV will never be the same without the Original Columbo after This Sunday Night

I wish that Monk was leaving instead.
space1999 11-17-2021, 03:54 PM What a disgrace. Columbo was a mainstay on Sunday nights. They'll take out this show but continue to air MASH, Andy, Gomer, Green and Hogan to death? Hopefully these shows' contracts expires soon too. MeTV Plus continues to be the better channel.
stevea 11-17-2021, 04:03 PM They already discontinued MASH on Sundays, once. Why go back to it again?
Maybe on Sunday they will show the color Andys, but I doubt it.

They didn't let the contract expired, Universal demanded the show back! It also sounds like Universal throwed a hissy fit about it. METV really did not want to lose Columbo.
Universal has also been denying Svengoolie access to certain movies. They also pulled that Munster Go Home Halloween stunt a couple weeks back, by letting CoziTV
aired the movie a week before Svengoolie could show it.
Crusinforabrusin2.5 11-17-2021, 08:02 PM Just want we all wanted, more Andy Griffith and Mash. The least they could've done was put another sitcom like Leave it to Beaver on or one of their other drama series such as Mannix

MeTV is a pretty good customer of theirs--Leave It To Beaver, Dragnet, Adam-12, Wagon Train, Alfred Hitchcock--the treatment is surprising.

Below, is the automatic email you receive if you mention Columbo.
"We noticed you mentioned Columbo in your message to us. While we will read your email shortly, we think we know what you might be asking. We are also disappointed that Columbo is leaving MeTV. Here's what's happening. We don't own Columbo. A big studio owns the show. They've decided to end our agreement and we can no longer show Columbo. It was their decision, not ours. We know that's disappointing. But, we're happy Monk has joined MeTV on Sunday nights, and now MeTV favorites The Andy Griffith Show and M*A*S*H will be on Sundays too. We sincerely thank you for being a fan of MeTV and we hope our transparency about what happened answers your questions."

Svenfan1234 11-18-2021, 11:30 AM I think this is a sign Monk will be leaving at some point as well--maybe January. The only reason, remember, that MeTV started airing it was to pair it with Columbo. Without Columbo, I think it's highly unlikely Monk will last much longer.
SarahBellum 11-18-2021, 11:32 AM Possibly. Monk seems a bit too recent for Me TV.
franfun65 11-18-2021, 11:53 AM [I am surprised about Metv losing Columbo but what does it mean for other shows they have from Univeresal? Quote: gentlemen, you can't fight in here.:p

I checked the upcoming schedule. No colored Andy.
BigManMike 11-18-2021, 01:51 PM I hope we see some big changes in January but I doubt it
stevea 11-18-2021, 01:55 PM MeTV could have suggested a trade--get another Universal property to replace Columbo.
Merry24 11-18-2021, 02:40 PM A lot of good suggestions!
I wonder if Me TV is considering Removing MASH & Andy Griffith Show off WeekNight Schedule but making sure first it establishes itself Sunday Nights.
I really feel Sister Networks Decades and Me TV plus has limited Me TV to programming choices as well.

Interesting, I've seen plenty of tv shows being recalled from various streaming platforms and back to their current broadcasting owners. Never would have thought Universal would be that strict to MeTV about Columbo since its television.
I also did notice the Munsters stunt! I always thought it was just a coincidence! CoziTV and MeTV are rivals now?!?!
Svengoolie's catalog of movies have taken a nosedive lately. I've seen the dip in quality. They aired Frankenstein meets the Space Monster on Halloween! Thats a real low grade film even for Svengoolie.

It's all starting to make sense now. Maybe this isn't MeTV's way of transitioning into the 2000s but rather it was for Columbo. They purposely moved Columbo out of the Sunday primetime lineup in preparation for the show's departure and paired it up with Monk due to similarities and also so fans don't freak out with the sudden drop from the schedule.

Unlikely to happen. More hopeful to just hope MeTV can't get those shows renewed. I feel like MeTV plus is the only channel thats willing to air any show from MeTV's library, its still new after all.

Universal/ Comcast's streaming service (Peacock) is not meeting expectations and it is already set to relaunch under a different banner next year. CoziTV only gets 1/5 of the ratings of METV. They also wouldn't let TCM show "Bride Of Frankenstein" last Halloween.
I'd be very surprised if Monk stayed.
munstercity 11-19-2021, 10:59 AM What a waste now. With all the shows METV has in its arsenal (spread across multiple channels) they are replacing it with more Andy and MASH instead of something not already airing.
They could have at least aired the color episodes of Andy on Sundays. Yeah, they aren't as good as the B&W plus still part of the series and it seems all of a sudden no one wants to air them. Although they did have a brief run recently on TVLand. For all the Andy fans it's nice to see the Blu Ray Box set of the entire series coming out soon.
