In JJ's New Career, JJ gets a lucrative job as a Bookie for Horse Races. It makes him kind of Wealthy, or at least Middle Class rather than lower Class. He uses his newfound lucrative Career to shower his Family with gifts. I think at first Florida was thrilled, but doubts and worries started creeping into her mind whereas Michael and Thelma were still thrilled. Florida was like,"Where is JJ getting all of this money from? He shouldn't be getting all of this money as an Entry-level Advertiser. She then says,"He's my Son, and I trust him, "with a look of worry and seeming to be praying to God for reassurance as she looks up and pats her heart. A new TV, an expensive one at that(You could change the TV Channels in one room while you changed clothes in another room! :D Seems pretty recent to be honest, :D ) comes in at the worst time, just about 30 seconds later and Michael and Thelma are still thrilled, but the new TV is the straw that broke the camel's back for Florida and she grills JJ on where all this money was coming from.
JJ makes flimsy excuses such as "In God We Trust," they pay me in cash, " 🤣 when Florida asked what name is on his Payroll. Florida understandably is alarmed and suspicious that an Advertising Company would pay in cash. In a Mandela Effect, I personally thought I also remembered her asking JJ ,"What's your Boss's name?" But that question wasn't in the clip I watched earlier today. She then presses further, asking JJ if he is doing something wrong and JJ admits he is a Bookie for Horse Racing. Florida is understandably upset that JJ is a Bookie for Gambling. JJ defends himself by saying they were about to be evicted if he didn't take the job. Thelma admits that she was thinking of dropping out of school to work full time. Florida says she would have taken 4 jobs before she would let Thelma drop out of school and still wouldn't have gone into the Bookie Business. JJ pointed out that the Bookie Business was only a little illegal Thelma says,"There is no such thing as a little illegal. That's like saying,"A little pregnant (Technically, Thelma is wrong when she said that. A little pregnant is literally before the showing of pregnancy starts, especially when the unborn child is a tiny embryo). Florida tells JJ to resign, JJ refuses, so she throws him out and tells him to take some of his gifts with him.
Fans were saying stuff like,"JJ shouldn't have been buying all those luxurious gifts like a Black Santa. He should have paid the rent, the bills, buy some food, MAYBE buy a cheap TV, and put the rest in Savings until he could get a legitimate job. Florida wouldn't have become suspicious if he had done it that way. A fan responded, "Eventually Florida would have still asked JJ questions about his "Advertising job," even if he had done this the smart way. Other fans were like,"WHY did it take so long, about a month before Florida asked JJ serious Questions about this so called "Advertising job," in the first place? She should have been on top of this like a week into JJ's job!" The response was,"She trusted JJ and had no reason to be suspicious until JJ begun overshowering his Family with a lot of luxurious gifts. I feel eventually she would have grilled him on his job, but much later had JJ not been overshowering them with luxurious gifts."
Eventually, JJ finds out that his Friends are also dealing drugs(He thought they were just Bookies, and not also Drug Dealers)and REAL Cops(There was a Corrupt Cop who was paid off to keep quiet about the drug ring)come to bust the illegal Gambling Ring and JJ hides in a closet and the REAL Cop checks the closet and only sees a broom and closes the door. JJ later comes out behind a broom,🤣 and calls Florida to beg him to let him come home, learning his lesson. She tells him it's his home with a smile.
