News is saying may be a new lead on it from an unsolved 2001 case and recent tips. I posted a 2nd article that repeats but it shows surveillance pics of the suspect from 2001 around a decade after the i70 killings happened. If that's connected they at least have some pics, and they mentioned dna also.

Interesting, the 2001 crime says it was a robbery? I don't know that the IH 70 Killer robbed the stores, but that wasn't necessarily clear either. the authorities seemed to claim that robbery was not the motive, but they didn't exactly say if the killer took anything. it seems like the IH 70 Killer is getting more attention now, and I don't recall DNA evidence being mentioned before...

Yeah I don't remember them mentioning him robbing or taking either. Seems like he just wanted to kill people.
It all may not be related but it sounds like a recent tip got things going again and got them to look at the 2001 case also as a possible link.
Hopefully they solve both cases whether linked or not. The i70 has been one case I've always thought was a low (not impossible) chance of being solved.

I don't know about this. The I-70 Killer killed mostly women. Even the one man he did kill was thought to have been mistaken for a woman because of his ponytail. I wonder if the witness who encountered him at the bridal store back in 1992 is still alive?
