I felt like "Breakups" should have been #1 on their list, as the show tackled breakups starting with the very first episode, had multiple breakups between Ross and Rachel, and the series almost ended with Ross and Rachel not getting back together (and then she got off the plane).

Other serious topics covered included struggles at work, financial difficulties, and dealing with relatives.
