I remember few years ago NBC aired It’s A wonderful Life from 9pm-12AM. Cancelling the 11pm local news on Christmas Eve why don’t they do that anymore I remember ABC, CBS, FOX local use to air something else in Replace of there 10pm & or 11pm local news on Christmas Eve to give there reporters-staff the night off. Why don’t the local stations do this as of lately on the past few Christmas Eve’s?

That would depend entirely on the local station, not the national network. Some of my locals take some of their regular newscasts off, but not all. NBC still airs It's a Wonderful Life every year on Christmas Eve, but in the regular 8-11PM primetime hours.
