Does ANYONE know the original lineups and debut dates for the following networks?

TBS
TNT
USA
TNN

Any help would be so appreciated. All I know is that The Brady Bunch "debuted" on TBS in 1986 at 4:35pm. LOL.

I think boeschner(spelling? sorry) may be the person I need to help me out with this.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Anybody else?

Thanks guys... and Classic Is Better, I didn't even think to try my local library! I'll do that this weekend! Hope they have some old ones... Although I doubt they'd go back more than 5 years, 10 at best.

Thanks again. Well, I'm sure most of the sitcoms that eventually went to Nick at Nite/TVLand (Addams Family, Three's Company, etc. all) were on TBS at one point.

I know Knots Landing was on TNT.

USA had FOL, and I'm sure all the classic 80 shows.

JT, Knots Landing (I believe, but not 100%) was on TNT years and years ago, of course, as we all know, it's on SoapNet now.

Pavanbadal & Burke Snow Winters, thanks for the help, I was just really curious what the networks aired years and years ago, too bad none of the lineups are like that now, lol.

I have also noticed that almost all of the sitcoms that were once on TBS later end up in Nick-at-Nite:

Maybe we will see Saved By The Bell, Friends, and Full House on Nick-At- Nite somewhere in the next 10 years.

CBN cable: Burns & Allen, Jack Benny, I Married Joan, My Little Margie, Bachlor Father, Life of Riley, Love That Bob, Dobie Gillis, Blondie, Rifleman, You Bet Your Life, and Here Come the Brides, and lots of religios shows and westerns. CBN also had a religious soap called "Another Life"

Nickelodeon: Tomorrow People, Livewire, and Bill Bixby's Against all Odds. At 8Pm Nick becomes A&E , then both channels were non-commerical. Just like watching PBS.

The listings came out of our local newspaper. The first cable channel I recieved was HBO in 1979, then ESPN in 1981.
In 1982 I hooked up with a service from our system called Cable PLUS.

I have listed all the schedules that TBS had from 1985 to Present. And I am 100% certain that Married with Children never aired on TBS. Mama's Family joined the Superstation in January 1997 at 9:35am/ct. Also, Happy Days started on TBS in 1990 not in 1987.

Here's a list of shows:
1986- Gilligan's Island
1987-Alice, Laverne & Shirley
1988- One Day at a Time, 9to5
1989-Jeffersons, Good Times
1990-Happy Days
1991-Too Close for Comfort
1992-Three's Company, Saved by the Bell
1993-Growing Pains, Head of the Class, Matlock
1994-Who's the Boss?, Charles in Charge
1995-America's Funniest Home Videos, Family Matters
1996-California Dreams, Family Ties, Empty Nest
1997-Amen, Coach, Mama's Family
1998-Roseanne, Full House, America's Funniest People, Hunter
1999-Different World, Fresh Prince, Cosby Show
2000-Cosby
2001-Friends
2002-Bosom Buddies, Home Improvement, parent'hood, Drew Carey, Seinfeld
2003-Moesha
2004- Everybody Loves Raymond

How come none of these old TBS schedules have the TBS original first-run sitcoms listed (Down to Earth, Safe at Home, Rocky Road). Also, does anyone know any webpages or places on the net where I can find any info regarding episodes and other general information on the TBS sitcom originals?

Not a problem!! Like I said, I only have the lineups from 1985ish onward and I also have some old tv guides from 1982 to 1985 however I can't really pick out the premiere dates for many of the shows. I always thought that Bob Newhart Show premiered in 1991, however when I found an old TV Guide dated 1982, it was on at 5:35pm/ct. Same with Brady Bunch, Addams Family, Carol Burnett & Friends, and All in the Family. The list of shows are quite long on TBS and they did have a couple of original sitcoms like Down to Earth, Safe at Home, and Rocky Road. Also, Good Times orginally aired on TBS in 1989 until 1992, then came back in 2000.

Someone asked the lineup in September 1989....here it is...

3:35 pm/ct Brady Bunch
4:05-Munsters
4:35-Good Times
5:05-Beverly Hillbillies
5:35-Andy Griffith
6:00-Jeffersons

4:05-Laverne & Shirley
4:35-Good Times
5:05-Beverly Hillbillies
5:35-Andy Griffith

USA began as ( I think ) the Madison Square Garden channel back around 1980. I assume their first program ( like HBO in 1972 ) was some kind of sporting event.

TBS, Years ago I remember reading in an old TV Guide from the late 70s about their first show ( or among the first ) was some sort of local comedy show with Bill Tush, who of course would end up in a few years be an anchor on CNN.

In the early days of TBS, depending on where you were TV Guide listed the cannel as either "17A" or "Atlanta 17", not TBS or even WTBS.

I remember when TBS despite being a national channel would still show local Atlanta commercials. Kinda cool to watch THEIR commercials when you yourself are thousands of miles away.

My college has an extraordinary backlog of newspapers preserved on microfilm. With the newspaper TV listings (and through the newspaper's listings supplement which is almost always archived as well) I can find out the lineup for virtually any station on any date. It would be too much of an undertaking for me at the present time to create an archive for any one channel, what with schoolwork and everything, but I can provide a schedule for any one channel on any one date. It doesn't need to be an exact date, it can be vague (such as April 1987). I will only take a few requests at a time, so once 3 or 4 requests have already been made, hold off until I've fulfilled them. I have a long lunch break and quite frankly I'm looking for something to occupy my time. ;)

And by the way, thanks to Pav for all the information about the stations history (both local and cable) dates and schedules.:) I remember channel 5 back in 1989 and 1990 where they used to show reruns of my favorite shows like "Family Ties", "The Golden Girls" and others along with the animateed series that I used to love as a youngster like "Popeye" where they used to show cartoons from just the King Features era, not the Paramount's Flesicher/Famous era as I recall. "The Super Mario Brothers Super Show" was one of my favorites, "Beany & Cecil" was an old classic and it was used to be on as part of "Matty's Funday Funnies" show back in the 60's. I remember back a long time ago that channel 5 used to air it on Sunday morning back in '89 was classic episodes of "The Wonderful World of Disney". I remember back when it was on the Disney Channel many years ago where it used to be as part of a late-night shift called "Vault Disney" until they finally got rid of it in 2001.:( I missed that show. I have all of the episodes on tape, I'm converting that to a DVD someday. By the way, thanks for posting all of these schedules that I remember that show for a long time.:)

As you probably know. That was the year that WPIX-TV was basically went on the air. Long before it became a 19-hour station and then it became a 24-hour station. The station was independent until 1995 that WPIX joined the WB. For those of you who don't know about the station's history, here is the story. (http://wb11.trb.com/about/station/wpix-about-station-aboutus.story)

In addition to that, there was no sitcoms until TV started in the early 50's because back in 1948, the three networks ABC, NBC and CBS are doing good with sitcoms on radio. Shows like "The Great Gildersleeve", "Our Miss Brooks", "The Life of Riley", "Ozzie & Harriet" and others are part of radio's golden era of sitcoms.
