Is the reason these networks don’t show older Classics is it because of Paramount Plus?

MTV has been doing Homecoming for Real World & spin-off The Challenge All Stars.

With that being said why doesn’t NICK at NITE & TVLand do Homecoming Weekends? Example, NICK at NITE airring a Weekend (Fri-Sun) of Timmy and Lassie and or NICK at NITE 1985.

While TVLand has a Weekend (Fri-Sun) of I Love Lucy.

tv land drifted away for classic programming a long time ago probably around 2007 when they started forcing reality shows like
Highschool reunion
The Cougar
Shes got the look

soon after that they began their new sitcoms craze by airing Hot in Cleveland. Impastor. Jim Gaffigan Show. The exes. Younger. Happily divorced. kirstie. lopez. nobodies. soul man. and teachers.

all they are now lately
is
Mash
Gunsmoke
Bonanza
Andy griffith
King and queens
goldbergs
new adventures of old christine
everybody loves raymond
and golden girls

Exactly! nick@niTe has been the FRIENDS channel for a long time while TVLAND has been Raymond & King Of Queens for a long time.

Isn’t time for a Revamption?

Two and a Half Men also on tvland.

also nick@nite and tvland already lost the purpose, they're not going to shut down yet, as they still make money regardless of ratings or lack variety

Merry24, aren't you guys forgetting about Mike and Molly recently joined nick@nite? I haven't heard you once Made comment about it. It's also still airs tvland and CMT

Full House left nick@nite recently two months ago, and George Lopez last year. Both were longest running. FH 1st in 18 years, GL 13 years.
Friends would have been next but Nick renewed contract for more years due to fanbase.

We are already in 2020s decade, while it's not the same as it was decades ago, Nick@Nite aquires nowadays could be Warner Brothers cbs show because it's cheap. Example Mike and Molly.

Mike & Molly are too new.nick@niTe is already pushing this show off to the early mornings.nick@niTe will not get any different sitcoms again until October 2022. That’s basically what they have done over the last couple years.

What I’m trying to say is old shows are coming home. I just don’t understand why nick@niTe or TVLAND can’t have a Homecoming for some of its old shows. Considering Paramount Plus has a lot of them.

Something that use to always air but now airring it during in today times. Example, I Love Lucy & The Dick Van Dyke Show airring again on CBS but in color.

OK then, That was around in 80s or 90s... I don't know exactly, so that was before. But Nick@Nite as been told many times is no longer a classic network. TVLand does air some few classic shows, but no variety.

So literally there's no point complaining about it, because nick@nite and tvland are no longer going back to old ways as it was before. You can go to AntennaTV, MeTV, or Decades. There's some classic shows.

NICK at NITE & TVLand has shown much success in those days. That’s what surprises me on why they don’t want that success-remember what got them officially off the ground. How everything Old is now New again.

Not everyone has Antenna TV & Me TV & Decades & Cozi TV & Me TV Plus.

It’s a shame that both NICK at NITE & TVLand are being waisted.

Several other cable networks especially Viacom are wasted.

Both channels slowly drifted away from classic tv programming in the early 2010s (well TV Land especially), in a failed attempt to attract a young demographic. Now, both channels have resorted to showing only a select handful of shows that while aren't terrible, are just on way too much and lose their appeal. TV Land even has a few shows that I like (Gunsmoke, Bonanza, King of Queens, Roseanne) but they've been played endlessly and need to take a rest.

Nothing takes a rest on these two channels. Everything is played to death. The binge lengths on Nick at Nite are absurd, and nearly as bad on TV Land. I enjoy Raymond, but even with 9 seasons it cycles too frequently. And with 5 seasons Andy G. cycles every few weeks (once in awhile they throw in the color seasons).

Yes!!!

Both Channels have so many options and have rights to a lot of shows but are only allowing the same tiring programming to air. When has NICK at NITE TVLand offered a different Sitcom at 12:00AM? Kept it there for a year?

Somebody mentioned they really don't care about ratings, which is probably true. Viacom has so much presence on cable, they probably only care how they do overall.

This is obviously why you see so much consolidation on cable, like the Discovery networks gobbling up the former Scripps channels.

Im both cases, mediocrity in numbers, with a few exceptions.

I can list this shows, just ones that aired on nick@nite lasted for a year, or less than a year:
The Facts of Life (Sept 2000-Jun 2001)
Different Strokes (Mar 2001-Feb 2002)
Head of the Class (Feb 2003-Sept 2003, although few before that but for occasion, first started Jul 2000)
Perfect Strangers (Feb 2003-Sept 2003, although few before that but for occasion, first start Jul 2000)
Hangin with Mr. Cooper (Mar 2001-Jun 2001 on TeenNick block of Nick, second run Jan 2014-Sept 2014 on nick@nite)
Charles in Charge (Aug 2002-Apr 2003)
Family Face Off: Hollywood (reality) (Nov 2004-Jan 2005)
The Jeff Foxworthy Show (Jul 2005-Jul 2006)
Search for the Funniest Mom in America (reality) (Apr 2006-May 2007, special aired only May 2005)
NewsRadio (Jul 2006-Dec 2006)
America's Funniest Home Videos (Bob Saget) (Apr 2007-Oct 2007)
Malcolm in the Middle (Jul 2009-Sept 2010)
Married ... with Children (Jul 2011-Aug 2011)
Hollywood Heights (Jun 2012-Aug 2012) (a nick@nite original show, in Nick productions)
Wendell & Vinnie (Feb 2013-Sept 2013) (a nick@nite original show, in Nick productions)
The New Adventures of Old Christine (Oct 2013-Mar 2014)
How I Met Your Mother (Sept 2014-Jun 2015)
Everybody Loves Raymond (Jan 2015-Aug 2015), also during time airing on TVLand too
The Goldbergs (Sept 2017-Sept 2018)
Two and a Half Men (Dec 2017-Jul 2018)
The Office (Jan 2019-May 2019)
The King of Queens (Jan 2019-Nov 2019), also during time airing on TVLand too

There could be more in early 2000s but I couldn't post all

Bottom line, early 2000s had nick@nite stunt like Revenge of 80s like Silver Spoons, ALF, Square Pegs.

nick@nite had a 20th anniversary in 2005 airing these lost shows. nowadays since 2010s and such they don't air the older obscure shows anymore.

There's the source.

Now with Mom and Young Sheldon in death slots, maybe they could be next to leave soon I guess. Maybe it's just me, but I just noticed they don't even air Mike and Molly promo mentioning these shows anymore. They used to but not anymore. The only aired separate lone Mike and Molly promo, and that's it.
