Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it!! And I'm really hoping that this leads to them actually releasing the footage from the concert in 2010! I went to that concert, and I loved it and I would love to relive it! Hoping and fingers crossed for that! I think the documentary will be really good, though! :)

The Bee Gees one mentioned in the story directed by the same guy was pretty good if that helps.

I read up on that after I found out that he did it. I am looking forward to this documentary.

I was just thinking. I didn't think you did the cable or satellite thing. How you gonna watch?
Hawkee 11-12-2021, 03:47 AM When Carole King got the chance to team up with James Taylor Carole knew that James could really help her with her career and it's no secret that they became crushes and decided to have the concert at the Troubadour that really upstarted their fame even more. And it's no wonder why James Taylor covered You Got A Friend so well because Carole originally sang it. I got the album of the concert when it was released and it even had a DVD too and I was amazed at the concert and Carole and James were a great duo and even today James Taylor sings awesome and looks pretty handsome for a guy his age and I wonder why James Taylor and Carole King didn't do another duet album because i'm sure fans would've bought it if it was released? But for Carole King fans this documentary will sure give fans the inside story on why this concert is a part of Carole King's historic career

DVD/Blu ray or HBO Max.
DVD/Blu ray or HBO Max.
If you have HBO Max, the ceremony with Carole's induction into the Rock Hall of Fame premieres there tomorrow night.

I'd rather wait for HBO Max. No commercials :). (And maybe longer more unedited stuff?)

Yeah, I'm waiting for HBO Max but Amazon may have it as well as they have the Bee Gees documentary (an HBO Max "exclusive") for purchase and rent on their streaming service, so they may have it as well. No commercials is definitely nice, and hopefully longer content, but if not, unused footage for a bonus somewhere -- streaming, YouTube, DVD/Blu-ray -- would be extremely nice, especially the concert footage from 2010 that supposedly lots of it will be included in this documentary so that's good news and hopefully more elsewhere, like YouTube or DVD/Blu.
Svenfan1234 12-23-2021, 02:01 PM But still, for those who want to watch it on CNN or DVR it when it airs, January 2nd at 9pm Eastern Time (I'm assuming 6pm Pacific Time), so I'd love to see spoiler-free reviews and previews of what to expect in terms of songs used! :)
Svenfan1234 01-02-2022, 04:29 PM Concert film on CNN tonight at 9PM Eastern Time/8PM Central and 6PM Pacific, and on demand from 1/3 to 1/9. HBO Max streaming it at a later date.
Svenfan1234 01-08-2022, 05:22 PM Documentary repeats tonight at 9pm Eastern Time (I'm not sure what Pacific would be, maybe 9pm there too?) on CNN and is available on demand through at least tomorrow through CNN. If you haven't gotten your chance to watch it, have CNN and/or On Demand, and you want to and don't have HBO Max, this is your chance!
Yeah, I'm waiting for HBO Max
So, it's now on HBO Max. How was it?
It's run time there is listed at 1 hour 37 minutes. How long was it on CNN?

I imagine the same. 2 hours with commercials on CNN. Documentary was very good, loved the concert footage, and they included nearly 20 songs out of the 28 or 30 they performed so that's great. Hopefully since the footage exists it will surface somewhere. Overall, a solid 10 out of 10 for me. And if it makes it to Blu-ray or DVD, I will certainly buy it!

Yeah, when (“when”, not “if”) it hits DVD they could add “bonus” or “extended” footage, stretching it out longer.

I'd be very good with that. There are some good songs that didn't make the cut (they're all good, but...) "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "Natural Woman" (technical inclusion w/a clip of them performing it on Letterman), "Song of Long Ago" (yet listed on the credits -- ?!), "Crying in the Rain", "Steamroller", "Jazzman", "Locomotion", and other "poll" songs where they polled the audience through their websites on what songs they wanted to hear -- so we have those they didn't include. I'm betting it's more likely than not it'll make it on to DVD and/or Blu-ray, potentially later this year. We'll see! 10 out of 10 though, regardless. And only so many songs you can include in a 97-minute timeframe anyway, so they included as many classics as they could.
Svenfan1234 01-09-2023, 03:29 PM Well, it’s off HBO Max for right now for some unknown reason (but they own/produced it?!) Anyway, I hope this increases the chance for a DVD/Blu-ray set with bonus features of all the songs and footage of interviews and rehearsals that they couldn’t include in 97 minutes. This is disappointing, to say the least. :(

HBO Max is apparently dumping lots of stuff, so I wouldn’t take it too personally.
Can’t believe it’s not commercially released already.
