As you may know Warner Bros. Studios have acquired the rights to the S&H story and there's a possibility of a remake or a sequel.
I ask of you, the original fans out there like myself to support a sequel consisting of the "real" cast only and not some cheap cash grab of a remake.
Until September 23, 2002 the petition will be posted at (petition closed)
Thank you.

In my opinion, it's a mistake to attempt to do a remake of this T.V. classic. Let's face it Ben Stiller is no Starsky.
Please don't get me wrong, I do respect and appreciate his work especially in There's Something About Mary. That said, he should be given the opportunity to stand own his own two feet by creating his own unique character and not step on someone else's coattails.
As for a sequel, I believe both Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul have stated that they're willing to reprise their respective roles. So many of us that were brought up on 70's T.V. would just love a sequel and it would bring much needed closure to the S&Hstory.
There's only one Kojak, one Columbo, even one Insp.Clouseau and there should be only one set of Starsky & Hutch.

I saw Starsky & Hutch movie last night & i liked it. I did feel that Ben Stiller was too silly to play Starsky but he pulled it off. The real Starsky & Hutch showed up at the end of the movie. Snoop Dogg did a good job playin Huggy Bear but the only thing is Huggy Bear on the tv show didn't have long hair like Snoop.

First off, IMHO, the S & H movie was completely different from the S & H TV show. e.g., whereas in the original show, Hutch was somewhat serious and Starsky was the comical one, to a certain degree, in the movie "re-make" the roles were definitely reversed. Plus, in the television show, Huggy Bear was sort of incompetent. i.e., every week they showed him undertaking a new line of work (e.g., pet store owner one week to selling pet rocks the next week to selling magic tricks, etc.) In the movie version, though, Huggy is portrayed as a definite criminal. In fact, he is portrayed as a drug lord more than anything. All this being said, yes, the movie was not what I expected. But I enjoyed it. Truth be known, it was probably that fact that made me enjoy it. If they tried to copy everything point for point from the original series, it would remain just that--a sad copy. But these changes helped make it different and unique from the original show. Of course, I prefer the original S & H. But the movie was funny, too. And if it helps to revive interest in the original S & H and as a result also help to bring forth the dvd season sets, well then, go right ahead, IMHO!!!! SWAT and Baretta stopped after their season one sets came out and who knows if other sets will ever be issued. So if this "re-make" helps further season sets to be issued, more power to them. Go right ahead!!!!
