City Confidential revived by A&E
U.S. cable net A&E is reviving the true crime series City Confidential, which previously ran from 1998 to 2005.
The rebooted series kicks off on Oct. 28, exploring crimes across the U.S. and showcasing the emotional and unexpected stories behind those events that catapulted communities, both large and small, into the public eye.
Actor Mike Colter will narrate the series. Each episode tells the story of one crime, the ensuing investigation and the ripple effect it had on a community. Family, friends, detectives, journalists and others close to each case are interviewed, with testimony woven together with archival footage.
The series is produced by Propagate for A&E. Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Gregory Lipstone and Lisa Bourgoujian will serve as executive producers for Propagate, with Elaine Frontain Bryant and Peter Tarshis for A&E. A&E also holds worldwide distribution rights for the series.
