I remember reading a story that before Family Feud was returning to syndication Dolly Parton was gonna be the host and even auditioned for the job but although Pearson Television liked Dolly Parton the best they chose Louie Anderson to host Family Feud. Was this true? Because Dolly Parton would've been the first female Family Feud host in history

It is too bad they didn't get Dolly Parton to host Family Feud instead of Steve Harvey. He has ruined the franchise now. :(

They offered her the job and she turned them down. She didn’t audition.
