They're nice therapy for tough times, too...so inspirational... :) Carmen_Epstein 08-15-2002, 12:38 PM It's okay, My sister-in-law plays it in her car once in awhile. It can be soothing after a long day of work or if we're stuck in traffic. ABlairican Pie 09-16-2002, 10:20 PM Even though "All Because Of You" by Lisa Whelchel is the greatest album ever recorded, surpassing even "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles and "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd, I want to list some of the other great artists in contemporary Christian music (and how come we as Christians don't have a genre we can actually spell and pronounce??? ): Debby Boone Amy Grant Russ Taff Steve Taylor Stryper Altar Boys Mark Heard (died in 1992, was one of the most intelligent songwriters anywhere) Kenny Marks DeGarmo and Key The Choir Mylon LeFevre Phil Keaggy And guess what. All of these performers were popular in the 80's. You'd have a hard time finding their albums. Need to update... stinky pete 09-17-2002, 07:50 AM DC Talk Toby Mac POD Newsboys Christian music is the best! Kay Scarpetta 09-18-2002, 03:16 PM Not anymore really. I'll still listen to Jaci but other then that it kinda went down the drain ABlairican Pie 09-18-2002, 09:55 PM Funny, I heard a clip of yesterday's Howard Stern shoe yesterday where he was ragging on a "Christian" version Of "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult, where they sang "Stephen didn't fear the Reaper..." and he was asking, "Who's Stephen??" I guess it was pointless to say that Stephen was the first Christian martyr, but HS was talking about how UN-original Christian music really was. Anyone care to comment? ABlairican Pie 09-18-2002, 09:56 PM I meant the Howard Stern SHOW, did I say shoe because it might stink??  |
