Recently I saw an episode where Barney came rushing into the courthouse just in time to listen to his favorite radio show. I believe the man's name was Leonard Blush. Who was the voice of Leonard Blush? It sure sounded familiar, but now I can't remember who I thought it was!!!LOL

Meta characters like Leonard Blush are fascinating to me, created fictions of an imaginary entertainment world that exists only to the characters of that "universe", in this case, Mayberry.

"Leonard Blush, 'The Masked Singer', is a local Mayberry celebrity who does all the vocals on the 'Ethel Page Organ Recital' on the third Tuesday of every month, from station YLRB in Mount Pilot (and later from WMPD, 'The Voice of Mount Pilot'). He is a former pupil of voice teacher Eleanora Poultice. He also sang 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the opening of the County Insecticide Convention..."

Doesn't Barney's voice coach (Reta Shaw) motivate him to sing in the choir when Gomer bumps him with, "Do it for Leonard Blush".
