She was living in the mansion difficultly in her own 16 years of her life since she was born, that's why.

i often wondered that.

hilary being the oldest, surely has the most memories of what life was like before the family became rich (both she, and carlton were shown as children in the flashback episode, when the family helped to clean up their old neighbourhood in series 3 episode 2). by rights, she should have been the grounded cousin that will instantly clicked with.

i wouldn't change anything though. i thought will's 'big brother' relationship with ashley was cute :)
