"Crossed Swords", yep. But I heard that test audiences didn't warm up to the "mean" Lamont. So his character was softened in the following season. I think the most emotional episode was in the episode where Donna gave Fred an ultimatum to marry her. Fred was standing in middle of living room talking to departed wife Elizabeth about marrying Donna as he was crying. It was very emotional and damn good acting.
