Hello Everyone,
Have I got some BIG Game Show News FOR YOU: starting November 15, a NEW Game Show Acquisition is coming to BUZZR.
I'll give you a hint: it's the Game Show Bob Eubanks is BEST known for.
Give up: It's "The Newlywed Game," the short-lived late '90s Revival of the Classic Game Show hosted by Bob Eubanks, who on and off hosted the show in various incarnations for over 30 years.
Created by Chuck Barris, "The Newlywed Game" originated on the ABC Television Network for 8 years from July 11, 1966 - December 20, 1974; a Prime-Time version followed, also on ABC, from January 1967 - December 1971.
In addition to the original series, Bob Eubanks hosted various Revivals--one during the mid 1980s and another in the late 1990s; a more recent revival aired on the Game Show Network during the 2010s with Sherri Shepherd.
Who knows? If BUZZR (a FreMantle company) can acquire a Sony property e.g. "The Newlywed Game," perhaps THAT could make way for Chuck Barris' Companion Game Show Creation--"The Dating Game," with Jim Lange.
Before being selected by Chuckie Baby to host "The Newlywed Game," Robert Leland "Bob" Eubanks (born on January 8, 1937 in Flint, Michigan and raised in Pasadena, California) worked as a California Radio Disc Jockey and Concert Promoter, having been responsible for The Beatles' Hollywood Bowl appearance; as he approaches his 85th Birthday on January 8, 2022, Bob Eubanks is more or less Retired from Broadcasting and a father of 4 children--3 grown (including Corey) with first wife Irma Brown, who made Bob a real-life Widower when SHE died in 2002; 2 years later, after a Short Courtship, Bob married his current wife, Debbie James (30 years younger), a former Contestant on the Game Show "Star Search," in 2004 who had a Marginally Successful Acting Career; Bob and Debbie are the proud parents of a teenage son, Noah, and live near the greater Los Angeles, California area.
