What's New: Rawhide, Wagon Train and The Real McCoys

What's Leaving: The Patty Duke Show, Tombstone Territory and Bat Masterson

I know Westerns is America's pastime but this channel is basically trying hard to be MeTV's third channel. Its nothing but Westerns. They couldn't keep Patty Duke on the schedule? Seems to be enough room for everybody. Why put a new show during the graveyard shift on a Saturday morning?? FETV has a bigger footnote in terms of accessibility for viewers nationwide and yet they continue to limit themselves. Why can't they put new shows during the primetime lineup? Is it another MeTV ratings thing?

I really like that they're putting on Real McCoys, one of my all time favorites, but 3 am to 6 am?? I love Real McCoys but not even I am watching 3 solid hours Saturday nights all night. Ridiculous time schedule meant for no one to watch. I predict FETV will be taking off Real McCoys and claim not enough people watched. Duh, this scheduling is built to fail.

And I really object to them taking off Patty Duke Show, holy mackerel, they just started it up a couple months ago, if that!!!

Once again, this only reinforces my decision NOT to rely on TV channels to show the shows I want to see. This type of decision making is the reason why I love my DVDs. Real McCoys and Patty Duke when I like and I don't have to worry about myself taking them off before I'm ready.

The good news is my other favorite Hazel is still on the schedule but running it twice a day everyday is only going to make people sick of it. I watch one episode a week from my handy dandy DVDs and I look forward to it each week. Twice a day everyday is overkill.

Yeah The Real McCoys clearly is overnight filler for the channel but they're doing the show dirty like this. As for Patty Duke, historically its seems like that 8 am timeslot for FETV always has trouble. Bob Newhart, Green Acres, and now Patty Duke is gone. They don't even give the shows a chance. It's like MeTV, only certain timeslots will have schedule changes and the rest of the channel stays put. Hazel is pretty popular for FETV fans so I don't see that show leaving anytime soon.
