Was Julie Anne Haddock a real tomboy?

Lisa Whelchel said that Julie Anne was the farthest thing from a tomboy and was surprised she played one.

What Lisa actually said (in one of the FOL season 1 & 2 DVD bonus features) was that she was surprised they cast Julie Anne to play the tomboy because "I thought she was about the prettiest one of us." So Lisa's remark was about Julie Anne's looks, not her interests/behavior.

She actually says "she was anything but a tomboy," which could be taken to mean more than just her looks, though.

Hmm, well she actually says what I posted as well. And yeah she could have been inferring her looks or her willowy nature.

LISA definitely said that JULIE ANN was the most beautiful girl: which it's true, because in my opinion LISA, FELICE and both JULIES were the best looking girls in season 1! (MINDY, MOLLY and KIM were still kids and hadn't developed then)

Felice was a tomboy too. She is a sports fan and an avid tennis player at one time.
