LucyCompanyPhan 07-18-2002, 02:08 PM Inside Schwartz was cancelled after 4 episodes and it was in the top 20 i believe because it was right after friends. bus_stop 07-18-2002, 02:20 PM Wasnt Fresh Prince in the top 20 when it was cancelled? i though it was becuase I remember it being pretty popular still after it was gone. Yeah I guess the after "Friends" curse continues, since IS' 9 episodes aired all did pretty good in the ratings. "Leap of Faith" also did good, but that was cancelled. "Jesse" was #13 in the ratings when it was cancelled in 2000. "Stark Raving Mad" was #15 that season and was also cancelled. During the 1995-1996 season, "Boston Common" was #08 and cancelled (I believe). All of those shows were on NBC. In terms of CBS, "Gloria" was canceled in 1983 even though it was #18. Notorious 07-18-2002, 02:45 PM Bridget Loves Bernie aired a full season of 22 episodes, and made it to #5 in the nielson ratings, and it was cancelled...It was on CBS. No, Boston Common went to #8 in it's 1st mid-season during March and April. The Single Guy's 2nd and last season went to #8, and was cancelled on NBC. Union Square went to #8, and was cancelled on NBC in 1997-1998 Well, I guess I'll stop...Bye. JT 07-18-2002, 08:40 PM "The Ropers" was number 25 I believe when ABC cancelled it in the spring of 1980 after two seasons and 28 episodes. baronzzz 07-19-2002, 03:04 AM I'm not sure if they were in the Top 20 at this point, but in 1971 CBS made a big sweep of cancellations of their rural shows. The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Hee Haw, and a couple other shows were cancelled just because CBS wanted to change its image and introduce more relevant and urban shows to its lineup. These "rural" shows were towards the end of their runs probably but were still performing quite well in the ratings at the time. Daydreamer18 07-20-2002, 01:38 AM If I'm not mistaken I think "Jesse" was in the Top 20 for it's short two season run on NBC.. I was really mad when it was cancelled b/c it was a good show with good ratings, but yet still cancelled! SBTB Geek 07-29-2002, 09:01 PM Wasnt "Joanie Loves Chachi" cancelled even though it was on the top ten?! TJL 07-29-2002, 09:19 PM Just becasue it was in the top twenty doesn't make it a good show. "Inside Shwartz" and "Single Guy" were highly rated for one reason... they were on after "Friends," and nothing more. Heck, you could put a roller skating chimp on for a half hour after "Friends" and it would be in the top twenty. Hmmm. Roller skating chimp... Call my agent! I got a mid season replacement here!!! |
