The Black-ish star, a big Law & Order fan who played NYPD detective Kevin Bernard on Seasons 18 through 20 of the NBC legal drama, says: “I did have a conversation with Dick Wolf. I will just say that. So, we’ll see what the future holds.”

Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) has been tapped as a lead in NBC’s upcoming "Law & Order" revival. Meanwhile, Anthony Anderson has become the first alumnus of Dick Wolf’s venerable crime drama to sign on for the upcoming Season 21.

Dancy will play a new character, an Assistant District Attorney. He joins fellow new cast addition to the franchise, Jeffrey Donovan, who also is set as a lead, playing an NYPD detective.

Anderson, who I hear has signed a one-year deal, will reprise his role as Detective Kevin Bernard, which he played on Seasons 18-20 of "Law & Order".

Anthony Anderson on returning to Law & Order after starring in Black-ish: "Full circle is what it is" (https://www.etonline.com/anthony-anderson-wants-to-have-fun-in-the-dramatic-space-with-law-order-return-exclusive-176197)

"It means a great deal," says Anderson, who will begin reprising his role as Detective Kevin Bernard starting Wednesday after seven seasons of Black-ish. "They're bringing the show back and billing it as their 21st year... full circle is what it is, and it's a good thing."

Live in Front of a Studio Audience's third special fell short of previous two, but topped Tuesday in the key demo (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/tv-ratings-tuesday-dec-7-2021-1235059500/)

About 4.8 million watched the star-studded re-enactments of The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes episodes. That was down from the 5.79 that watched the second Live in Front of a Studio Audience special in December 2019. The special did provide a decent launchpad for ABC's Abbott Elementary, which debuted to 2.88 million viewers.
