I always wondered how the Diff'rent Strokes production team taped the exterior shots of "The Bank Job" at Metromedia Square, which didn't have a backlot with exterior building facades. It turns out they didn't use Metromedia Square for the exteriors, only the interiors.

Exterior shots for these episodes were actually taped at the Burbank Studios. I found a recent photo of the bank exterior! It's on New York Street (https://studiooperations.warnerbros.com/new-york-st/#gallery-1-8) at the studios, and it's still recognizable since the two Diff'rent Strokes episode were taped: the entrance still is partially wooden, with faux stone pillars on both sides.
