This episode was on Logo today. WHY would anyone be obsessed with dopey Jermaine Jackson when there is Michael Jackson (king of pop)? Also, Tootie was so crazed and hysterical when she thought she couldn't go to the concert. I don't think Mrs. G. should have caved in. She should have contacted Tootie's parents. Another thing, Tootie was a crappy friend in this episode with her neglecting to pitch in for the charity event. Even before she knew the scholarship was for Jo, she already agreed to help her friends only to bail on all of them.

In the Reelz documentary, Margie Peters reveals the episode was written with Michael Jackson in mind, but Michael wouldn't do the episode. Jermaine was available for the price the producers were offering, and thus, the episode was made.

OK, that's understandable, but still.... Jermaine Jackson? I can't even name one song from him. Couldn't they have gotten someone a little better?

JERMAINE JACKSON was a great singer! (maybe not as good as MICHAEL JACKSON, but still!)
He had a great single in the 80 s called 'And when the rain begins to fall..: it was a duet!
Not to mention that the JACKSON 5 were the greatest!!!

I still groove every time i hear on of their songs playing lol!

I love The Jackson 5, but I don't care for Jermaine as a soloist. I don't think he can sing anywhere near as good as Michael. Sure, Michael Jackson was a weirdo and an accused pedophile but he was probably the best dancer on the planet and had a flawless voice. Jermaine was pathetic IMO.

Funny that you mention it, but my mother also always thought that MICHAEL JACKSON was the best dancer ever: he had so many younger generation copying his steps (one of them being JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE who was a big fan of him lol!)

I read somewhere that Kim kept pestering director Assad Kalada to have someone from the Jackson family to appear on the show. He caved into Kim just as Mrs. Garrett caved into Tootie.
