I have this book. I think it’s a good read but like most Honeymooners books, it can be a fountain of misinformation (not to mention it being outdated.)

On pages-195- 196, they mention that some CBS lost episodes that are unavailable on TV, but available on home media. At the time that the book was made, the breakdown was this but as you can tell, four of the lost episodes have been found and nine of them have been given the TV rerun treatment and all of the episodes that have the notes “MPI will release” and “MPI will release”, MPI has released.

“Halloween Party” (aka “Halloween Party For The Boss”) (10/30/54): lost
“Manager of the Baseball Team” (6/1/57): MPI has released and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“EASTER Hats” (4/4/53): lost.
“Alice’s Birthday”(5/16/53): Lost.
“Missing Pants” (12/6/52): lost.
“The Turkey” (9/27/52): lost but later found and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“Lost Baby” (10/11/52): lost but later found and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“Quiz Show” ((10/18/52): lost but later found and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“Question Mark” (aka “Halloween Party”) (10/25/52) lost but later found and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“Christmas Party” (12/52): one reel found. MPI May release and they did.
“Fortune Teller” (4/3/53): half of show available. MPI May release and they did and as of 2019, has been shown on Decades.
“Vacation At Fred’s Landing” (6/53): MPI will release and they did and as of 2019, this episode has been shown on Decades.
“What’s The Name” (5/15/54): MPI will release and they did and this has been shown in syndication since I think from the early 90s.
“Lawsuit” (3/27/54): MPI will release and they did and this has been shown in syndication since I think from the early 90s.
“One Big Happy Family” (4/9/54): MPI will release and they did and this has been shown in syndication since I think from the early 90s.

Also, when talking about the Color Honeymooners episodes and the 1970s specials, they mention that these episodes are previously unavailable except for those who taped them. Obviously, as you can tell, that has long stopped being the case as the hourlong Color Honeymooners (except for the pilot episode “The Adoption”)) were in syndication from 2003-2010 and all of the Color Honeymooners (except for “Incredible World of Ed Norton”) have been released by MPI and Time Life. All of the 1970 specials have been released onto DVD except for the Honeymooners XMas Carol which will finally be released later this year.

Speaking of outdatedness, I have the Honeymooners Companion book that because it was made in 1978, it has LOADS of information that is outdated. One that may make you laugh is the line that says “There will never be more than the Classic 39 episodes available. If they only knew…
