I just watched this one today and was really enjoying it. I love misunderstanding type episodes. It's one of the reasons I love Three' s Company so much. Well this one by Leave It To Beaver was set up so nicely I was expecting a great payoff but it kind of just fell flat. The resolution was just Eddie's girlfriend telling Eddie it was a misunderstanding. No showing it at the school where Eddie punched Wally in the hall on front of all those students. I was expecting something more like showing Eddie's birthday party instead of just a quick handshake with Wally at his house. And then Wally's girlfriend saying she's sorry is done off screen with June telling Ward about it. Kind of a missed opportunity to do something funnier. What's the saying "show don't tell".

Despite all this I still think it was a good episode but Three's Company would have knocked it out of the park.

Lumpy's dad does that as well in a few scenes in other episodes -apple don't fall far from the tree - kinda cool they have both of them being foolish ?

Eddie alternates in S6 to going with a Miss America (like here) to Wally having to beg to get a date for him.

And Eddie having a good looking doll girlfriend Cindy - ya right -

Odd they talk about the Wet Blanket type in some episodes but the babes in the show are all darn good looking !

The way they got the shadow through the front window of Wally & Cindy looking like there in a Loving Kissing moment was actually kinda cool though "Let Me Check the Waist Once More" Eddie: Is that Cindy Waters Smooching with ... ! Lumpy: "Well it's not her father !"

And Wally telling Cindy he wanted to put his jacket back on because her dad was looking at him and gave him a Funny Look !

btw Cindy has light blond hair and dark brown eyebrows lol

I think it could have been a lot better. The whole concept was pretty good Eddie thinking Wally was moving in on Cindy. However when he finds out his parents thought that too he just had to tell them, they weren’t going to spoil the secret. Of course that was the gist of the plot not to tell a soul she was knitting Eddie a birthday present. What I wanted to see was Eddie getting the present and what he and Cindy did. Did he give her a passionate kiss? Not on LITB. It really did fall flat but it couldn’t be too outrageous. I think having a birthday party and Wally doesn’t come until after she gives him his sweater and how Wally helped then enter Wally and Eddie gives him a big bear hug.

Overall, I like this episode. Best parts for me:

Eddie actually having the courage punching Wally, and to further pursue him in the hallway. First time I've ever seen him aggressive, even if he was mistaken.

I’m surprised Cindy used Wally as a model they didn’t share the same build especially in the shoulders. She should have used Lumpy for a model he had the same physique as Eddie.

Zooma zooma kinda made the episode.

I wondered why Wally kept the fittings a secret even to his family. With Beaver he had a big mouth and would probably have spoiled it somehow, especially since Eddie was around the Cleaver house so much. But why not tell W&J sooner, so they knew what he was doing?

And why does Julie get so bent out of shape when Beaver mistakes her for Cindy on the phone, and tells Julie (thinking it's Cindy) Wally's on his way to her house? She had dated Wayne Gregory and he dates other girls so what's the big deal?
