(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Squad!) differ from the Naked Gun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Naked_Gun) movies?


The movies were obviously smuttier, they also focused more on Frank's love life as a while subplot, where as the TV show focused more on the crime cases

This style of humor I think worked better for television. After a while, the jokes became more and more lame, but in short 30-minute episodes, once a week, it was easier to digest.
