JamesG 10-08-2021, 01:50 AM Tyler Posey Reveals What he's Most Excited for in New "Teen Wolf" Movie
by Samantha Highfill
Oct. 7, 2021
Tyler Posey has big hopes for the recently announced "Teen Wolf" movie.
Posey joined EW for an Instagram Live interview Monday, during which he talked about what he's most excited to see when he returns to Beacon Hills. "I'm just excited to play this character again," Posey said of True Alpha Scott McCall.
"I miss him, I love him."
More specifically, Posey is excited to play Scott a little bit later in life.
"I think what I'm most excited for is to see them age," he said. "We were in high school for what seemed like 10 years. I'm excited to see them age and get out of high school. High school was such a character in itself on the show, so I'm excited to see how it's going to be without that sort of character of a school involved. It will be interesting."
Although Posey said he has no idea what the Paramount+ film will be about, he's confident it will stay true to what fans loved about the show. (The film is being written by creator Jeff Davis.)
"What really carried the show were the relationships, mostly between my character and Dylan O'Brien's character, Stiles," Posey said. "That to me is what really carried the show and what made people fall in love with it. And then we got to have a lot of fun on top of that with the supernatural element, the romantic element, the horror.
I think as long as we have the element of a really great relationship, whether it's friends or romantic, then everything else kind of falls into place."

JamesG 02-15-2022, 06:31 PM Tyler Posey is Back But Not All Original Cast Members are Returning for Paramount+'s "Teen Wolf" Movie
by Nellie Andreeva
Feb. 15, 2022
"Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey is set to reprise his role as Scott McCall in Paramount+’s upcoming movie sequel to the 2011 MTV series. Eleven other series regular and recurring cast members of the original series are set for the full-length reunion film, the streamer’s chief content officer of unscripted entertainment and adult animation Chris McCarthy announced during today’s ViacomCBS Investors Event.
● Tyler Posey as Scott McCall
● Holland Roden as Lydia Martin
● Shelley Hennig as Malia Tate
● Crystal Reed as Allison Argent
● Orny Adams as Coach Bobby Finstock
● Linden Ashby as Sheriff Noah Stilinski
● JR Bourne as Chris Argent
● Seth Gilliam as Dr. Alan Deaton
● Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore
● Ryan Kelley as Deputy Jordan Parrish
● Melissa Ponzio as Melissa McCall
● Dylan Sprayberry as Liam Dunbar
Missing from the list are former series regulars Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho and Tyler Hoechlin. I hear Cho and O’Brien are not returning for the revival. There has been chatter that Hoechlin also would not be coming back but his status appears to be in flux.
Paramount+ said that additional cast names will be announced.

Cool, I will enjoy seeing the movie. Too bad Dylan O'Brien can't be in it, his Stiles character was pretty funny, especially in the early seasons. Maybe Tyler Hoechlin can get get a break from Superman & Lois to be in the movie too.

Dylan O'Brien says he won't return for Teen Wolf movie: "It was a difficult decision" (https://variety.com/2022/film/columns/dylan-obrien-teen-wolf-movie-1235200247/)
"A lot went into it,” the actor who broke out as Stiles Stilinski on MTV’s Teen Wolf tells Variety of not returning for the Paramount+ movie. “The show couldn’t be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did I and so many people there are extremely dear to me." But, he adds, “ultimately, I just decided it was left in a really good place for me and I still want to leave it there. I wish them well and I’m going to watch it the first night it comes out. I hope it f***ing kicks a**, but I’m not going to be in it.”

Vince Mattis will play Eli Hale, the teen son of Hoechlin's Derek Hale, in the Paramount+ movie. Additionally, Nobi Nakanishi, who recurred on the original Teen Wolf as Young Katashi, will play the new character Deputy Ishida in the movie.

Tyler Hoechlin has signed on to the "Teen Wolf" revival movie. Hoechlin will reprise his role as Derek Hale in the upcoming Paramount+ film.
Hoechlin was one of a trio of notable holdouts from the reunion cast, along with Dylan O’Brien and Arden Cho. The studio says “additional names” will be announced.

Arden Cho confirms she was offered "even less" than half of what her former Teen Wolf co-stars were making to star in Paramount+ movie (https://www.thecut.com/2022/05/arden-cho-talks-turning-down-teen-wolf-and-her-new-show.html)
Cho, who was abruptly dropped from the MTV series after Season 5, tells The Cut she was surprised when asked to join the Paramount+ movie. When the movie was announced in February, Deadline's Nellie Andreeva reported that Cho, the only actress of color among the four female series regular cast members who played the group of teen friends at the center of the show, was offered half the per-episode salary proposed to her three counterparts (http://arden%20cho%20confirms%20she%20was%20offered%20%22even%20less%22%20than%20half%20of%20what%20her%20former%20%3Ci%3Eteen%20wolf%3C/i%3E%20co-stars%20were%20making%20to%20star%20in%20Paramount+%20movie), leading to her decision to pass." Cho insists that whoever leaked the story wasn't in her camp, but says with a chuckle: “I think I was actually offered even less," adding: "I probably would’ve never shared it.” Cho is quick to point out that the reality of being paid less than her white (and/or male) co-stars is not unique to her. I could probably, off the top of my head, think of over ten Asian American actors I know who were paid significantly less than their counterparts,” she says. “Sometimes you don’t have a choice to say ‘no.’ Sometimes you just need it. You’ve got bills to pay.”

Colton Haynes recalls in his memoir walking away from Teen Wolf after two seasons over unequal pay (https://www.insider.com/colton-haynes-left-teen-wolf-reason-unequal-pay-salary-memoir-2022-5): "A failed contract negotiation is what the press ran with, but the real truth was that they didn't want to pay me the same amount as everyone else, which wasn't a lot to begin with by Hollywood standards, even though my working quote — the fee I would be paid to appear on anyone else's show — was higher than most of the cast's," Haynes, who is returning for the Teen Wolf movie, writes in his new memoir Miss Memory Lane, according to Insider. The actor also wrote that he was "represented by a team of people that made the Teen Wolf production's life a living hell." "So in order to get back at my team, the production refused to pay me the standard salary," he writes. "I was constantly caught in the middle and at the end of the day, the only person who ended up getting hurt in the battle was me."
