Impeachment: American Crime Story was a "Hot Topic" today on The View. When Behar’s co-hosts asked her point blank if she now regrets her Lewinsky jokes, she answered with a resounding “no.” “I don’t regret any joke I ever did,” Behar said. “Because in the moment, it was funny and it was relevant. My intention is never to hurt anybody’s feelings, so I’m coming from a pure place with it.” Behar reminded her co-hosts that every comedian at the time of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal was making fun of her, including female comedians. But she added, “in today’s climate, there’s something about it that doesn’t smell right.”

Her intention is never to hurt anybody's feelings?

Was her evil twin backstage when she said that?

Monica Lewinsky was an adult at the time she had the affair with Bill Clinton. I don't like the fact that she's sort of been portrayed as a victim of Bill. She went into that relationship willingly.

At the same time, the press widely mocked Lewinsky, in great part because Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton tried to portray her (and other Bill Clinton conquests/accusers) as wacko. If there hadn't been a DNA stain on Monica's dress, I have no doubt the Clintons would have been successful in destroying this woman.

Joy Behar is repugnant to me. She should have just apologized and moved on. Many others, including John Oliver, have already done so (https://www.thecut.com/2019/03/john-oliver-apologizes-for-monica-lewinsky-joke-interview.html).
