The new TV season premieres tonight. In a welcome change from last year, the traditional start of the season won't be delayed for several weeks, although I did enjoy watching borrowed show Manhunt: Deadly Games.
My pick for first overall cancelled show is Our Kind of People, but I could also see it being La Brea. As much as I want hip hop crap Queens to fail like The Mayor did, it will probably get a full season anyway with strong rated Bachelorette garbage as the lead-in. :( The Big Leap has gotten a lot of advertising, but Our Kind of People has barely gotten any that I have seen. Shows that are on the fall schedule only are included, not midseason. Veteran shows and anything unscripted are also not included, just rookie fall freshmen (although CSI: Vegas isn't really a freshman, but it does have a different title).

Poll will close at this time on September 30. I picked 10 days but had assumed that time would go to midnight.

I chose Our Kind of People for first cancelled freshman show of 2021-22, simply because I'm still mad over Empire being denied a proper send-off because of the COVID-19 pandemic, its official series finale being left unproduced forever. Because of that, I hoped Lee Daniels NEVER has a successful TV show again; he should just stick to feature films.

While I voted for Our Kind of People, it might not even be the first show cancelled on FOX now. The Big Leap got a puny 0.2 out of a strong 0.8 lead-in for 9-1-1 last night. Those are preliminary numbers, with 9-1-1 getting its overrun back (there was none in week one) it might adjust up making the gap even larger.

Our Kind of People, too bad that the show has low ratings so far.

While not a scripted show, the new season has its first cancellation: Killer Camp. The CW has pulled Killer Camp after just two episodes and replaced it with Masters of Illusion repeats.

Another reality show has been cancelled: Home Sweet Home. NBC is pulling it from the schedule with just 4 out of 10 episodes aired, will be replaced with 4 leftover episodes of The Wall. I bet season 2 of Weakest Link will air Fridays at 8:00 in January, may it be a bigger episode order this time. We still don't have an official scripted cancellation yet. Although The Big Leap and Our Kind of People did not receive any back orders and are surely cancelled. CSI: Vegas also did not get a back order.

Anyone who had La Brea as the first cancellation was dead wrong. It just got renewed for season 2.

Home Sweet Home ended up moving to Peacock on November 12th:

Why would CSI: Vegas get a back order? With just 10 episodes, I thought that was going to be a "special attraction" like the Will & Grace revival seasons (meaning, as a revival/sequel series, it doesn't have to work a 20-episode full season). If CSI: Vegas was doing better in the ratings, what wold the size of any back order for it be?

If CSI: Vegas had pulled in 0.7s or 0.8s it would have for sure gotten a back order. Will and Grace had at least 16 episodes from every revival season. But since CSI did so poorly there was no need to give it an extension., could have been anywhere in the 16-20 range.
