View Full Version : I got a new job!
After a year of losing my retail job due to COVID-19, I was able to get a new one babysitting my neighbors' three kids.
I start on Monday of next week and I'm so excited.
It's going to be for a couple of hours, but this could be a permanent job if everything goes well.

Thank you everyone! To start off, I'll be babysitting a girl who is either in Pre-K or Kindergarten and then I'll be babysitting the boys who are in elementary school.
Caroline13 09-13-2021, 03:12 PM Good quality childcare providers are gold to parents and many do make this a profession for a long time or how long they choose.

Coffeecup 09-25-2021, 05:23 PM I am half thinking of finding work. But 3 things I think about. #1 covid situation. Hope I don't get the achey feeling and could die. I am twice vaccinated. # 2 Probably need to wear a mask for the time being there I do like to find air. #3 At my age I am just about to turn 64 will I be able to catch on as well as the youngsters. I picture myself learning and working with a 20 something who in his or her mind working thinks, I working with mother or grandma . Anyone have thoughts on working in this situation we are in. . I look and see HELP Wanted everywhere.

Actions speak louder than words, 1000's of jobs out there. And if you feel you are vax protected what is the issue? 64 is YOUNG, I took on a nice couple yr nanny job in my mid 60's due to corporate job loss, so much is possible. We can find excuses Not to until the cows come home.
Little side story about a young friend and she's done nanny work for years and this is her big thing and designing websites, but with covid she's having a tough time finding nanny jobs as she will NOT do the vax and most want that. But she did find a nice weekend 2 day nanny job for parents who don't require a vax and she's doing that now, 4 girls are a big job but it's not forever and $$$ is good, she needs to support herself...and she's gotten a PT website position, tons of jobs are available. Think of what you might like to do and seek out.

I don't know your situation. If you are financially self-sufficient, then it is up to you of you want to work. If you are on public assistance but are otherwise fit, I believe it is your duty to be a contributing member of society and work.
