View Full Version : Feeling a Heavy Heart of Sadness
Caroline13 09-06-2021, 10:48 PM My daughter is getting closer to putting their family dog of 15 yrs to her final resting place. Sweet Tori is advancing in the dementia and hallucinations and daughter finally admitted "no quality of life" and now daughter's life is being too affected. She is a major part of the family but I know she will be in Peace...it's who is left behind who will have a tough time.

Sorry about this, I recently lost my pet dog as well. She was having internal issues so I took her to the vet, after examination the vet said that she needed surgery but he wasn't confident that she would survive the surgery so I decided to end her suffering and have her put down. I miss the little dog, she was a good pet and very well behaved in the house. I don't think I want another pet because of the heartache and sadness that occurs when something happens and they pass away.

Hi Bonnie, yes it was Daisy, it happened in early August about a month ago. She had stopped eating and was refusing her food so I became concerned and took her to the vet and the diagnosis was not good. I'm shocked at how quickly it happened, she was fine the day before and started acting sick the following day. I think she probably had something wrong going on internally for a little while but didn't start showing any symptoms until it was basically too late to fix her. Thanks for your condolences, it is much appreciated.

They have been struggling with this advancing dementia for a few yrs and it's only advanced as it would with humans.

MISST3 09-07-2021, 09:14 PM Caroline, so sorry to hear about your beloved Tori! It's heart-wreching to watch the decline of a pet. My heart goes out to Retro, too, at the loss of beloved Daisy.
Very sorry to hear about Tori. Animals offer so much love and companionship that it's hard to let them go.

I figured it was Daisy !! :(I am so sorry Lee! I know how much you loved her and she loved you! But remember you will be reunited in heaven someday !
Think of her now out of pain crossed the rainbow bridge romping around with other dogs. She will meet Caroline's Daughters , Sweet Tori !
Caroline13 09-08-2021, 01:55 PM My daughter is having a Hard Time putting Tori to sleep, as she seems pretty good during the day and gets issues at night and I guess that's why it's called Sundowners in dogs. It's also called Late Day Confusion and this could be so with humans. One suggestion is to keep lights on in home at night and my daughter has done this to a point. This is tough.
