View Full Version : Why did Jack just accept the Bus Boy job and not call Dean Travers?
TVFactFan 09-02-2021, 03:57 PM I mean Im sure DeanTravers wasnt giving him a letter of recommendation for no bus boy chop at a restaurant:lol: So when the Manager told Jack he was going to be a bus boy he should have said
"Wait let me contact Dean Travers because I was expecting a chef job since I graduated from my cooking school". And if that was the only job available then jack should have just denied and looked for something else
He was so damm submissive:lol::lol::lol:

I wasnt looking for a real answer. It was posted for episode discussion. You know like how people do when they watch soap operas. I am pretty asking you to put yourself in the same situation as jack and comment on what you would do in that situation
Wawwie 09-03-2021, 12:41 AM Yeah, if I was Jack, I probably would have informed Dean Travers about how that snooty French restaurant would not hire me as a chef, only as a bus boy. It's like the manager of the French restaurant totally disregarded Travers' letter of recommendation. So Travers would want to know that they also disrespected him.

Yeah that was supposed to be Jack connection to get started as a chef and he treated him like an outsider lol Even after he got the letter of recommendation

I felt so bad for Jack when he got found out by Janet, Furley and Larry. He was so humiliated.

You have to wonder if there was anything in that letter about jack's cooking skills lol
SitcomsHeydayfan 09-07-2021, 12:06 AM Because that would've ruined the storyline!

I want to leave this board because you are clearly stupid

You're just stating the obvious instead of coming up with clever alternatives, like Jack could have told the snobby restaurant owner to shove it and then contact Dean Travers to inform him that his letter of recommendation was ignored thereby disrespecting him.

Dont respond to that weirdo. he is too stupid to realize the question was posted for fun tv talk. Like putting yourself in that situation and how you would have handled it. That fool really thought I was looking for answer to that question:lol:

He contributes nothing to the thread topic, so I don't know why he posts here at all.

Just like when Jack got the restaurant from Angelino and found out how dirty and abandoned it was, he never thought to call Mr. Angelino and tell him how it looked:lol:
Mr. Angelino, was you aware that this restaurant location is dark and dirty? What the f(ck am I supposed to do with this?

Yeah, Jack was too afraid of Mr. Angelino!

Guess angelino's was the only restaurant in Santa Monica:lol:
Wawwie 09-07-2021, 01:07 AM Guess angelino's was the only restaurant in Santa Monica:lol:It did seem to be the only way he could get to run his own restaurant since he couldn't even keep a bus boy job or a job as a cook at a diner. But that wasn't his fault. That lady owner was a pervert who sexually harassed him. There was also that sandwich shop he worked at for a while when Gladys, that older lady was smothering him with motherly love.

I want you to leave, that was a typo. Log Out crazy man

I think he meant to type: "I want you to leave..."
rusty spike 09-07-2021, 01:58 PM Here's the reality of Jack as a chef.
I don't think he way very skillful. Yes, he went through the motions, but he was a disaster in the kitchen. And he couldn't remember recipes (remember the cooking show segment?)
Cooking is both an art and science. At a restaurant, you are supposed to be preparing food for a large clientele. He was a gourmet chef for a small group at best (and everyone had better order the same! lol).
rusty spike 09-07-2021, 02:03 PM One more thing: as a business owner I wouldn't hire someone out of school without experience.
I do think that any trade school worth a hill of beans would have a job placement strategy/program to find "intern" jobs for graduates.

Exactly, partnership with local restaurants in the area
