It was a wise move, to have McKeon play the role in the series. I wonder if the actor from the movie just signed on for the pilot, or if he was purposely replaced. it may say as much in that Alice book, which I have yet to get.

In the comments section of the video, it says he was replaced because he looked too old. I have no idea where that info comes from, though.
