Tyler Perry's new studio facility occupies about 68% of the former Fort MacPherson (330 acres out of 487 total) in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Perry, in June of 2020, revealed a plan to get production on his TV series-es up and running at that new facility in the midst of the COVID-19 Nightmare Virus Pandemic. The shows' episodes are ALL written and directed by Mr. Perry himself. One full season of a Tyler Perry series is made in two-and-a-half weeks; this is FAR faster than most broadcast-TV drama shows, whose seasons usually take around 6 to 8 months (including hiatuses). And his shows film entirely on the lot, which features elaborate exteriors and interiors (including the White House).And there's ample housing on the premises, too!
The Tyler Perry Studios facility officially opened in the Fall of 2019. 19 historic houses were preserved on the premises, including one in which FDR stayed while en route to Warm Springs, GA.
The casts and crew members of Mr. Perry's serieses are sequestered on the studio lot for the duration of production. From July 9 to September 6, Mr. Perry successfully filmed 82 episodes of his BET serieses Sisters and The Oval and BET+’s Ruthless and Bruh. And on top of that, Mr. Perry was able to film the entire 19-episode second season of his comedy series Bruh in only FOUR DAYS (https://deadline.com/2020/09/bruh-in-the-can-wrap-successful-4-series-shoot-tyler-perry-studios-sistas-the-oval-ruthless-1234571938/)!
