Anyone remember a comedy-drama titled The Last Precinct? It starred Adam West as the captain of a police department that had a fat cop, an Elvis impersonator, an exchange cop played by former tennis star Vijay Amitraj, a transsexual, and two elderly cops named Butch and Sundance.

I thought was a cross between Hill Street Blues and Police Academy but the show didn't last long since it was up against CBS' hit show Dallas.

It's another story about a show that premiered after the "Big Game" and died not long after. The show was in the same vein as Police Squad! and Brooklyn Nine-Nine and it came from Stephen J. Cannell. But was America ready for an hour-long police comedy? Obviously not.
