August 10, 2021

"Jeopardy!" contestant Matt Amodio has hit a major milestone as he continues his winning streak on the popular trivia game show.

Amodio is now the fourth-highest earner in the show's history after beating out the other contestants in his 14th straight game on Monday and raking in a cumulative total of $440,600.

Sportscaster Joe Buck, who served as guest host for that episode, consoled his competitors, who called Amodio "the behemoth." Said Buck, "If you're gonna lose, have it be to him."

He's very good and very low key. Not charismatic at all but likeable. He reminds me of the 20 something guy a few months ago who was champion for about a week but unfortunately died suddenly of some undiagnosed medical condition around the time his episodes aired. I don't remember his name.

Matt has already risen to the 3rd highest earner for regular games after last night, behind only Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer.

His name was Brayden Smith. He was really good and sad to see someone with a bright future die at only 24.

Since winning the on the last new episode, he will see Mike Richards. I do wonder how long Matt will go. He may see several hosts. I will be tuning in to see the show.

I have been watching Matt Amodio's run, especially when he raced up more than $70,000 in one game and to me he is unbeatable. His knowledge is very broad and he makes excellent Daily Double and Final Jeopardy wagers.

I liked Braydon Smith, the last great champ of Alex's tenure. I was saddened to hear that he died. He was only 24.

by Michael Ausiello
October 1, 2021

On Friday’s "Jeopardy!", current champ Matt Amodio notched his 33rd consecutive win, landing him in second place on the game show’s all-time consecutive wins list. He surpasses previous silver medalist James Holzhauer, who had 32 consecutive wins.

The Ph.D. student from New Haven, Conn. still has a ways to before reaching No. 1, as Jennings remains firmly atop the leaderboard with a staggering 74 wins.

“Ken’s always been the face of Jeopardy! to me, so when I think of Jeopardy!, I think of him,” Amodio said. “To [be] right behind him is a surreal experience.”
